What is it called?

When I was a kid every Xmas there was a Disney Christmas Carol movie on with Mickey as Scrooge's nephew. Is this all a figment of my imagination or did this film exist? Does anyone know what it's called? It's been driving me insane for days now! Haelp (ala Penelope Pitstop)

Never heard of such a film!

Is it not the ordinary Mickey´s Christmas Carol you refer to?

Hee...I know the feeling. I spent months on this forum trying to find a Disney sex ed video... (don't ask).
You certainly weren't imagining it.
The 'short' in question is called Mickey's Christmas Carol.
It was made in 1983, and runs for about 25 minutes (so a long short).
More info can be found
here.
However, unless you are thinking of a different movie, I have a feeling that Mickey just worked for Uncle Scrooge. It has been a while since I've seen it too...
At present, it can be found (without credits I believe) on Snowed in at the House of Mouse DVD. However, we are all 99% sure that it will appear on the upcoming Treasure Tin,
Mickey Mouse in Living Color 2 (out December 2).
And if I haven't done so before, welcome Celtic!

Ah. A Christmas Carol. One of my all time favorite stories, in any format - even
Scrooged.
Mickey does not play Scrooge's nephew - he is Bob Cratchit and simply an employee of Scrooge. Scrooge does have a nephew in both the original story and the Disney film, who is played by Donald Duck (named Fred in the original story).
Considering the short running time, Mickey's Christmas Carol is a superb adaptation of the novel. Incrediably accurate, but somewhat abridged.
While I enjoy Mickey's Christmas Carol enormously (it has one of my favorite animation scenes of all time in it), it's always been a shame that having done the short, it sort of stops Disney from doing a proper, full length version of the story - either with or without existing Disney characters. Such a film would be just what they need to boost their animation division.
If anyone is interested, here's a link to the full text of the novel.

Yep a Christmas Carole it is. It only runs for 25 minutes??? I could have sworn it was a full length film. That'll tell you how long it's been since I saw it!!! Thanks guys and gals. One less annoying 'what's it called' ticked off the list for the day!!!

Amen to that. What a great thing that would be for a Holiday season, to have a full-length motion picture adaptation from Disney Studios.

Welcome, Celtic (and IggieKuzco

)!
Mickey's Christmas Carol is a personal favorite for me. I watch the tape I made several years ago every December. (Along with all my other variations on the story - the Muppets, Scrooged, the Real Ghostbusters episode, etc.)
I do wish that the short was given a DVD of its own with complete credits (which are missing from the Mickey's Magical Christmas DVD that contains it), with a featurette or so. SRP - $9.99 or so. I'd definitely buy it.
(But Disney only seems to want to sell 'iffy' movies at that price. Only two great ones that cheap are What About Bob? and Quiz Show, in my opinion of course.)

I never got welcomed either... and every day I cry, waiting for the welcome that will never come

...

It's OK I'll just remember that at christmas time, when I have more money than I know what to do with...

(like that would ever happen... my theme song is that of the little drummer boy... "I am a poor boy too, par rum pum pum pum")
But more to the topic, it has been many years since I've seen Mickey's Christmas Carol, and this will undoubtedly be on the upcoming Mickey tin even if Beanstalk isn't
I think they could still do a full length animated feature of this movie, just because they did a mickey cartoon of through the looking glass, that didn't stop them from making Alice in Wonderland... I would also like to see them do Jack and the Beanstalk, and in the old school disney style, with credits at the begging and the book, and the theme song playing, which would be a reworked "
In My Favorite Dreams" which is one of my favorite disney songs, but is way way too short!
Any way, that's just Prince Phillip's out put, take it or leave it.

Oh it was a part of a series called the 'Triangle of Health'...I had remembered this really strange sex-ed video we were shown at school with Disney characters that had this little jingle about an 'equilateral triangle' (you had to be mentally, physically and socially ready for sex, apparently...not sure how one is socially ready...). Anyways, I thought I was imagining seeing Disney characters in it, but the forum helped me out (long story, still long).
...and Welcome!
