How exciting! I look forward to it. I did search the forums and could not find a thread dedicated to the television event. So here I posted about it.

Tinkerbell-cup, according to this sites current Upcoming schedule, The Muppets Wizard Of Oz is rumoured to be coming to DVD in August of 2005.
On the subject of the movie, I'm on the same page as you, not being in America and having to wait a while to see it. I'm not as excited as you and Nedakh seem to be, but I'm nonetheless interested about it.
I wonder who'll star as who?

Well, from commercials I've seen it looks like Ashanti is Dorothy, Kermit is the Scarecrow, Fonzi is the Cowardly Lion, Gonzo is the Tinman, and Miss Piggy is the witches.

Muppets in Oz should have been aired on Sunday night.
It could have been sandwitch between America Funniest Home Videos and Desperate Housewifes.

I'm glad it's not on Sunday (I watch Family Guy on Sundays)

But I'm really excited to see this special.. the only problem is that I can't stand pop music or Ashanti...and from what I heard on the Disney Channel, the music caters more to fans of her music than fans of Muppet music. I love Muppet movies though, so I'll try to tune out the music

I love the Muppet adaptions. Christmas Carol and Treasure Island were a real hoot. Can't wait for this

Wow, Henry Winkler is going to be in a Muppet movie???
Silly me, I know it's supposed to be Fozzy. But now a dilemma...should I watch the Daytime Emmy Awards on CBS or The Muppet Wizard of Oz on ABC?
Well, I really can't watch either since I work from 4-12 that day.

Don't have one at the apartment.
I could always ask Kram or Jane to tape one of them for me back in NJ.

VCR?

This is to be Tivo-ed. How dare they air it on a Friday night!
But thank goodness it's not airing on a Sunday night (or Saturday even!)! I wouldn't give up Family Guy or the Simpsons!

Sadly, I gave up Desperate Housewives..it's okay. They'll be on boxset soon!

Because Grey's Anatomy and Extreme Makeover Home edition are too big a pull. This should have been on Saturday, the normal day for WWoD.

Can't wait to see this!!!!...I love the Muppets....My favorite Muppet movie is the original one,but I've liked all the others I've seen(except for Kermit's Swamp Years, which just wasn't as funny/cute as the other movies)...

I was shocked and surprised to see that Miss Piggy will be playing the role as Glinda!
I thought she would be perfect for the Wicked Witch of the West, unless she has a counter-part who's evil enough to play the Wicked Witch of the West...

According to the Disney Insider e-mail I got, Miss Piggy will be playing all 4 witches in Oz.
