FIRST SEASON, available on September 20th from Touchstone Television and Buena Vista Home
Entertainment. Winner of two 2005 Golden Globe® awards for Best Television Series (Musical or Comedy)
and Best Actress – Teri Hatcher (Musical or Comedy), DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES is nothing less than a
cultural phenomenon. The release date of September 20 is timed for fans to collect and enjoy all twenty-four
episodes of the entire first season just before the hotly anticipated premiere of Season 2 on the ABC Television
Network.

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON features hours of exclusive, unrated

show; and much more. Available on 6-disc DVD box set for $59.99 (S.R.P.).

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES is the sexy, funny and utterly engaging look at one suburban neighborhood,
where the secret lives of housewives aren’t always what they seem. Mary Alice Young (Brenda Strong,
“Nip/Tuck”) narrates and takes us into the lives of her family, friends and neighbors. There’s Susan Mayer (Teri
Hatcher, “Tomorrow Never Dies”), divorcee and single mom of Julie Mayer (Andrea Bowen, “Boston Public”);
Lynette Scavo (Felicity Huffman, “Sports Night”) the ex-career woman and mother of four unmanageable kids;
Bree Van De Kamp (Marcia Cross, “Everwood”), the Martha Stewart on steroids; Gabrielle Solis (Eva
Longoria, “L.A. Dragnet”), the ex-model and cheating wife; and serial divorcee Edie Britt (Nicollette Sheridan,
“Beverly Hills Ninja”), whose romantic conquests have everyone buzzing.

Then there are the men, including 17-year old gardener John (Jesse Metcalfe, “Passions”); hunky neighbor Mike
(James Denton, “The Pretender”); fed-up husband Rex (Steven Culp, “Thirteen Days”); Gabrielle’s
domineering husband Carlos (Ricardo Antonio Chavira, “Six Feet Under”); suspiciously newly-widowed
husband Paul (Mark Moses, “Ally McBeal”) and more. In addition, DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES’ guest stars
include Sharon Lawrence (“NYPD Blue”), Lupe Ontiveros (“Storytelling”), Richard Roundtree (“Shaft”) and
more.

Marc Cherry is executive producer and writer, Michael Edelstein and Tom Spezialy are executive producers,
and Charles Pratt Jr. is consulting producer of DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, from Touchstone Television.

I'm there. I LOVE this show. What is it about shows featuring women, sex, and all their drama?

First it was The Golden Girls that I was addicted to. Then, Sex and the City. Now, it's Desperate Housewives.

Women! Gotta love 'em! ;)

Why?
What initially attracted me to the series was two things the mystery and the relationship between the four housewives mostly. As the season has progressed, the mystery has become really unintriguing and we rarely if ever see the four firends interacting. And the way the characters are written is so bad. One episode Bree is so vengeful and is going to leave her husband, and with little explanation as to why, she is back with him. Her son Andrew seems to side with a different parent in each episode. I love Felicity Huffman, but the way Lynette is written, she is the most selfish, self-righteous, annoying character I've ever seen on TV (and I've watched Dawson's Creek)! Yeah, you've got kids, lady, but that doesn't mean the world owes you anything. Teri Hatcher is hot, but Susan is so stupid, and not in a funny way. I hate that her daughter has to be the grownup in the relationship.

I'm giving it to the end of the season since I've already watched this far. I want to see how the mystery plays out, but unless it improves tremendously I won't be returning next season. The fact that they are already planning to add new characters to the cast could mean that they are already running out of ideas.

But my family and friends love it (and so do millions of other obviously), so to each his own. Give me Lost, Arrested Development, and Veronica Mars instead!

The least they could've done was add the guys in each disc... :p

But overall it's plain and fine. You know, kinda like the cover. :roll:
Plus, each disc shows how each 'housewife' acts on the show!
