why why why why?

what's wrong - why don't they like us - we helped with the war and everything...not fair...

if they continue to behave that way, we can hardly continue to help them out every time they want to have a war can we...?

so unfair...so disappointing

I'm not really seeing why you are blaming the US?!

It's BVHE Europe who are to blame, it is the individual countries that decide what DVDs we get, BVHE US doesn't really have much of a say! If France or the UK wanted to release it they could, but they just don't see it as financially viable!

It's not fair. If BV are a European company, why do they give all their nice packaging and extras to the US and don't share them with us? :(

OK. you do realise that Buena Vista and Disney are the same company! Buena Vista was set up by Disney to distribute the films in the 1950s!

This is a VERY pathetic and useless remark.

Well, the Gift Sets have NEVER been released in other countries than the US for the other Planitum Edition releases, so it is 99% sure it will also be the case for Cinderella.

Just buy the region 1 set, what's the difference ??

yeah we helped with the war, we deserve gift sets and slipcovers that open like a book, that's the least they could do for us!

Yest but also very big and ugly yellow kinda sticker that you can't take off because is part of the cover. That's the pb with canadian releases for Disney DVDs.

I get all of my R1 DVDs from Canada, and not one single one has a big yellow sticker on them!

Yes they do have a round yellow thing as you said with written "VF incluses" on them. That's true for the canadian releases for every Disney title except the Treasures. That's really weird you don't get these ichabod! Maybe you"re buying the DVDs from a US retailer in Canada,... But as far as I know, every canadian website will see the Disney DVd with that sticker.
It's either that or the bilingual cover, which means that on the cover it's writte, both in english an in French. The bilingual covers can only be found on French Canadian websites.

Here's an example:

As I think tihs is really not pretty (even if I'm French ;-) ), I always buy my R1 Disney DVDs throught amazon.com even if it's a little mroe expensive that the very great prices of DVDsoon.
Otherwise, for other studios like Warner Bros., there's no such things as these cover differences. It's the same for the US and Canada, except for the presence of a little canadian flag at the bottom of the backcover but that's really nothing.

Actually The Lion King and Aladdin do, I've just checked, but they are the only ones!

No well it wouldn't doesn't bother me even if they did have a yellow spot on them, I mean I get all of my DVDs from Canadian retailer DVD Soon.

Take the Cinderella Giftset for example, at Amazon.com including shipping to the UK the cheapest i could get it is $39.47 USD

At DVDSoon including shipping to the UK it is only $29.28 USD

Now when I'm saving $10, why would I care about a yellow spot! :p

If you can your Disney DVDs from DVDSoon they all do!
All the Disney DVDs I bought through DVDSoon have this sticker, including The Sword in the Stone & Brother Bear.
Just go on DVDSoon and look for Disney DVDs and you'll see the cover the way they sell the DVD, with the sticker.

So, as for me, as I was saying it, I really don't mind paying 10 bucks more t oget the DVDs from amazon and get no yellow sticker.
Plus, they usually put it on a character or something and it's pretty big ! And for the SE with slipcovers, the "yellow thing" is on the slipcover too.
Yeurk !  :)
