Alot of newbies ask about this so here are somethings you may want to know.
In order to use an avatar (picture under user name) you must have atleast 50 posts.
Once you are able to use an avatar the maximum dimensions are 100 x 100.

One of the teahers at my school is named Mrs. Disney, and I've been fighting the urge to ask her if she has any relation at all to you-know-who.

Wow! That's cool! You should definitely ask her. Disney isn't a very common name anyhow so she probably is related somehow. If not, at least you know and won't have to worry about wondering.
Anyhow, that's cool that you have some kind of connection. It's kind of like that seven steps to Kevin Bacon thing. I've walked on the same Main Street Walt Disney walked on at Disneyland!
