<b>Walt Disney’s TIMELESS TALES Volumes One and Two</b> both feature a collectible, full-color DVD
storybook. Volume One has a storybook of Walt Disney’s “The Prince and the Pauper.” Volume Two
has a storybook of Walt Disney’s “The Wind In The Willows.” Each volume also has “Parent Tips,”

<b><u>The Prince And The Pauper</b></u> – Mickey, Donald and Goofy star in the classic animated story of mistaken
identities.

<b><u>The Three Little Pigs</b></u> – This milestone of Disney animation features the now-famous song “Who’s Afraid
of the Big Bad Wolf?” and won the Academy Award® for Best Animated Short, 1933.

<b><u>The Tortoise And The Hare</b></u> – Disney’s animated version of the famous fable won an Academy Award®
for Best Animated Short, 1935.

<b><u>The Grasshopper and the Ants</b></u> – In this animated treat, a lazy grasshopper prefers to sing and dance
rather than forage like his friends the ants. When winter comes, the ants save the grasshopper in return for
musical entertainment. The film introduced the now-classic song “The World Owes Me A Living.”

<b><u>The Pied Piper</b></u> – An animated version of the legendary fable. When the Pied Piper lures the rats from
Hamelin Town but is not paid in gold, he leads the children of the town away to the magical Garden of
Happiness.

<b><u>The Wind In The Willows</b></u> – Mr. Toad’s mania for motorcars lands him in jail, and drives his dear friends
Moley, Rat and Angus MacBadger into a panic. This delightful fantasy, one of the most famous in
children’s literature, is set in storybook England. It features outstanding animation from the first “Golden
Age” of the Disney Studio.

<b><u>The Ugly Duckling</b></u> – A little duckling is initially shunned by his family but wins out in the end, in this
animated version of the famous story by Hans Christian Andersen.

<b><u>Ferdinand The Bull</b></u> – Ferdinand is a fearsome-looking bull who actually just wants to take time to smell
the flowers. Not even a matador and the bullring can make him change his mind. This film won the
Academy Award® for Best Animated Short, 1938. Walt Disney himself is caricatured among the
characters at the bullfight.

<b><u>The Country Cousin</b></u> –When Abner, a mouse from Podunk, visits his big city cousin Monty, he learns that
the city may not be the best place for him. This film won the Academy Award® for Best Animated Short,
1936.

No double dipping for me I already have all the Walt Disney Treasures.

I won't be gettin these because I already have the best ones!

For some reason I never really got into the Disney Treasuers I dont know why I just didn't. So I am defintley looking forward to both these DVDs and I'll be buying them both. Thanks for posting the information Luke.

I'll be pick'n them up for collecting reasons.. I do like the cover art tho.

No Goliath II or Lambert the Sheepish Lion?

$20 bucks for each, huh man I need to get a job. But they look like great movies. I didn't know that some of them one the Academy Award, that's really interesting I guess they're very good cartoons.

Those were released in Finland a while ago and they're very cheap, but I don't think I'm buying them as long as the treasures include the same shorts as these. I see those good for them who don't really care for Treasures and for collectors of course, the covers are actually quite tempting to be honest.

You probably already know that Lambert the Sheepish Lion is on the "Melody Time" DVD..... Hopefully Goliath II will be in the Treasures this December. I LOVE Goliath II, so I am really crossing my fingers.

Actually, no I didn't. I haven't actively been searching for them though. Must buy Melody Time.

i want to buy this dvd(s) but i don't know if i'm going to have money by then (lots of movies i'm going to buy)

This is "Another wave of Disney DVD's in the cartoon compalation cannon hence, the title of my review. Its not for me and like the "Classic Cartoon Favorites" they are double dipped. Furthermore, the cartoons that are new to DVD will be on the Treasures eventually. Besides, this series aims at young kids with the themes of liking yourself for who you are and the value of preparing for the future ETC. Overall, this series will be great for the small frys but teens, adults, and collectors might want to stay away from them.

...unless you are a completist. (which I partly am... but still have yet to buy 'em.)

Can I ask two questions to do with the Timeless Tales Vol 2 set?

1. Where was Ferdinand the Bull originally censored? I understand that it has some disturbing elements (the bullfighting, silly ) and that the short is set in Spain, so did they edit for reasons related to violence and/or racism?

2. Is The Wind in the Willows short simply plucked out of Ichabod and Mr Toad? What I mean is the short not having a title card saying "The Wind in the Willows" and a bit of editing at the end to disguise that Ichabod's tale wasn't next to be told. I remember that our video of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow had seperate title cards to the anthology feature and skipped the little talky transition from Mr Toad's tale highlighting American legends, so I was wondering if something similar happened for The Wind in the Willows on the Timeless Tales DVD.
