This probably has been brought up before...but has anyone really badly wanted some of their favorite D.A. classics on Disney DVD for some time? I know I have. These shows bring back such fond memories and it's sad that Disney hasn't bothered releasing their classic TV properties on DVD yet.

I would say the most watched show for me back in the days was Darkwing Duck. This guy was my hero in the 4th grade. Everything about this show screamed Disney originality and it's such a shame bogus lame shows like Doug (which wasn't a Disney creation to begin with anyway) and Teacher's Pet got movies while good shows like Darkwing never did. I still find that a shame.

Another would be Talespin. My soul reason for liking it was my favorite Disney villian, Don Karnage (gaze upon his visage..yes?) The adventures were really intricate for a kids TV show.

My last favorite would probably be Bonkers. This one seemed to have been ignored by the Disney marketing machine, well, when it came to the DA shows anyways. But nevertheless, while Roger Rabbit was a genius movie, I liked this show more. Not too mention getting a kick out of the various Disney cameos...and Jim Cummings once again shows his talents as a voice actor playing the toon bobcat cop, Bonkers.

Which brings me up to wanting these on DVD. If anyone would like...please e-mail disneyinfo@disneyhelp.com and let them politely know you'd like these shows to be see on DVD. Here's too hoping.

Personally, I'd die to have a nice release of the Darkwing series. I was actually in high school when the show premiered, and it was love at first sight. Wonderful characters, awesome concept. Everyone around me thought I was a little old for it, but I wanted to escape into that world and go on those adventures! Darkwing is still one of my favorite characters of all time. Maybe there aren't too many people that would agree with me here, but I think it would be cool to have an updated version of the series made with Gosalyn grown up and Darkwing being frustrated that he can't quite get around as well as he used to.

I agree with you that Doug is a REALLY dumb show despite the fact that I watched it about every other Saturday morning a few years back. All I have to do now is persuade my thirty-something-year-old brother to stop watching it.

It's the good old Disney Afternoon block that was in sydnication during the 1990's, which rotated Gummi Bears, DuckTales, Chip 'n Dale Resue Rangers, TaleSpin, Darkwing Duck, Bonkers, the Shnookums and Meat Funny Cartoon Show, Quack Pack, Gargoyles, etc. This programming block was a two hour show that aired on weekday afternoons around the time school was let out, and many Disney fans feel a lot of nostalgia over it.

I also wouldn't mind to get my hands on a release of the unsuccessful Shnookums and Meat on DVD, but that seems rather unlikely. I also hold a special affection for Gummi Bears and the Wuzzles (the latter was also not a part of the DA but is an important part of Disney television animation).

Doug was never a part of the DA, but I don't think it's a bad show. I feel it had gentle story lines and and positive morals that kids easily related to. I used to watch it occasionally on Nickelodeon but didn't care much for the changes that Disney made to it.

I would love to buy most of the DA shows.

I agree that the Disney version of Doug was pretty bad, I always like the Nickalodeon ones though.

I would LOVE to see a return of Disney afternoon. I remember when Kellogs had the collectible pvc figurine series in their cereals if u can remember they had Gummi Bears, Ducktales, Talespin & Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers-lol I had em all.... Might still be packed away somewhere in my moms house. I love all the fast food toys too-i am sure I have alot of that stuff all packed away somewhere at my moms house too.

But anyways, back on subject: on eBay u can sometimes find like homemade series on DVD made by the seller-I know i have seen Wuzzles on eBay....I am sure u can find most of these shows on DVD on eBay as well.

PS- everyone remember how the theme song for Disney Afternoon went too??? catchy li'l jingle....

Yup, I remember The Disney Afternoon I used to watch it all the time.
I only have Tummi, Scrooge McDuck, Dale and Baloo along with the Goof Troop set. Didn't Darkwing Duck have a set. I might just buy all of them on E-bay soon.

Hopefully they will come out on DVD soon.

Gummi Bears, Ducktales, Talespin & Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers all deserve their own DVD releases.

Nostalgia factor is big on those for us that grew up on these.

Edit: If The Timon/Pumba show counts as one of those t.v. shows than it also needs to come to DVD too. To tell you the truth that's actually my favorite Disney show. Ducktales right behind it! What's taking Disney so long releasing those DVDs?!?

Ditto. I loved Disney afternoon I would love to see the Goof Troop get a DVD season set that was defintley one of my favorites after Ducktales and the Gummi Bears (Oh the good old days)
For a while Disney One Saturday Morning was good back in the mid 1990s now its like watching the Disney Channle (Disney has left me with nothing) no awsome addicting cartoons>

Now a bit off topic what did hapen with Doug??? I mean he got a movie and all but there are so many holes? I mean is that wah tthe creator wanted? If the show were still on Nick it would proably still be g.etting new episodes

All I really want is the rest of the Gargoyles series(that show was awesome!!!) and possibly Ducktales(one of my childhood faves)....though I would like to see the rest of the D.A. shows brought to DVD('cuz they do have alot of fans;I'd be disapponted if they hadn't at least released season 1 of Gargoyles)...

In earlier DA years Gummi Bears & Ducktales were my favs...then along came Gargoyles & that instantly became my new favorite-I dunno if it was the "darker" style of animation. Not your normal Disney cartoon. The idea of ancient winged warriors living in NYC that are stone by day & alive by night, so unique.
Not to mention the continuous references to Shakespear-which I found interesting too. & did u notice the other gargoyle clans had theme names too? Goliaths clan were all named after their new found home in NYC. The gargoyles in england were all refered to what they were... & the gargoyles in Brazil were named after the jewlery stones. I dunno, that whole show is in a league of its own-i hope the rest of the series comes to dvd.
