I know it's random but I was just watching "The Little Mermaid" and "Bambi" and it reminded me of my childhood memories. I have so many fond memories from Mermaid I would give a lot to go back and re-experience some of that magic.

I hate growing up. I hate losing all the innocence we have as kids.

Lol, I feel the same way about The Lion King. I wish I could forget about the movie instantly so the next I watch it, I will have a thrill with it.

When I see The Little Mermaid, I have this feeling of childhood. I always remember parts I was wowed by and remembered clearly as a little boy. The thing is tho, is that I hate looking back. It's hard enough for me growing up as it is so I mostly ignore these feelings...

I would say Lion King (haven't watched it in years) brings back all my memories of childhood, me and my friends were all over this movie when we were kids. Almost every scene brings back memories for me, and I remember feeling the emotion as well. There was an aura of magic surrounding this movie.

Another movie would probably be Oliver & Company. This was the first Disney movie I remember seeing (Beauty and the Beast as well). The catchy music and fun characters made this one of Disney's best. I remember wanting to be Dodger once lol.

And also, can't forget growing up with Disney TV. The true magic for me lied in shows like Darkwing Duck (my hero when I was a kid) and Talespin (Don Karnage, my favorite Disney villian). I would almost faithfully follow these shows everyday and they also helped me to discover the magic that was Disney.

You're not the only ones who get's depressed by thinking of things like that. Every Disney movie I watched loads of times as a kid brings back (happy) memories and it reminds me about the environment I grew up in with nice friends and moments, I really miss those days. The Lion King was pop around us and we hyped about it as sick, actually I got to watch the opening and little after that with a friend of mine who got it at the release of it. It's not just Disney movies what makes me think about my past but also video games I played, places I used to play in and simply said everything. I would do anything to go back in time and re-experience everything.

For me,it's Cinderella,Bambi, and The Little Mermaid that bring back childhood memories....I used to watch them all the time,and saw all three of them in the theater as a kid(Little Mermaid came out when I was 10)...I also remember renting Sleeping Beauty quite a few times(I didn't get my own VHS copy until it was re-released in 1997)...Nostalgia's a good thing,it always makes me happy to see a new Disney animated feature(the theatrical ones anyway;the DTV sequels are hit-or miss)...

There are lots of movies that bring back childhood memories for me: "The Rescuers," "The Little Mermaid," "The Lion King" and some of the sequels.

Many of them bring back childhood memories for me. Bambi(the first movie I ever watched at the Cinema), The Little Mermaid(my first movie rental), and the Lion King(the first vhs tape I purchased).

The first movie in a theatre that I saw was Fantasia.

The first movie that I saw DISNEY that I remember...was Beauty and the Beast then The Little Mermaid. HOW MAGICAL! And as a little girl, of course, you'd always dream of finding your prince! (I dunno if I want to go back to that part of my childhood where I'm still daydreaming! )

The first movie I saw was in a theatre was Fantasia. It was a school field trip.

The next one I saw was Pollyanna. It was at school. The school I went to showed movies at around Christmas. I also saw 101 Dalmations, and Lady And The Tramp at school the same wayl

The first movie I ever saw was Bambi when it was released in 1988. I remember walking out of the theatre (to use the bathroom? Who knows. I was four at the time). The next movie I remember seeing is "The Little Mermaid". In fact, every time I hear/see the Walt Disney logo play at the beginning of the movie it always reminds me TLM.

I wish things stayed with the same with Disneyland (ticket prices). My mother used to take me to Disneyland when I was young and I went in for free because I was under the age of 4. And her ticket only cost $20. But, times change and things become more expensive/people make more money. So now it costs $74 for a 1-day parkhopper and $10 for parking. Let's not forget the cost of food!

I get that feeling with THE LM! I allways remember when my brother and his GF at the time took me to the theater to go see it! How nice it looked on the big screen

The only memories than this movies bring me back are the ones where I remember me watching them.

Sometimes it´s better not to remember, but growing must not be an inconvenient to enjoy movies,remember than it doesn´t matter to have 19 or 25 or even 80 years,what matters is to always see the world with a soul and the eyes of a children.
to don´t loose that innocence and that capacity of being impressed because the most unlikel or themost common thing in life.
For example, if you see a baloon, not to say"oh wow,another baloon" but say"hey,nice baloon it have many colors and it floats, and even if I try to make it down,it´ll always go up again!"

To become an adult it´s not growing, just evolving, but if you fiorget who you are you have not only grow, but you have killed a kid--not literaly--

Movies I have fond memories of:

Beauty and the Beast - first Disney flick I REMEMBER seeing, although I'm positive they took me to see Little Mermaid, I don't remember.

Pinocchio - You know how kids can pick ONE movie and watch it OVER and OVER again from the time they get up, to the time they go to bed? Pinocchio was that movie for me. Let me put it this way, I watched it so many times that our first VHS of it died and we had to get a new one. Yep.

Aladdin - STILL one of my favorites today.

Peter Pan - Amazing. Like Al, I still love this one.

The Rescuers Down Under - And now you're like "SAY WHAT?" But here, I remember going to this movie then having to leave because I was scared to death. Not sure what did it (The guy or the bird) but, nonetheless, I still haven't seen it to this very day.


....I think that's it.

I wish I was a deer like Bambi, then I wouldn't have to worry about going to college, getting a job and s*&^. I always want to be 8/10 years-old again, cuz those were the good times. That and high school, I wish I was back in high school, had some great times there too. There is just so much in life that you have to worry about, and I don't want to worry.
Anyways, Simba and Bambi reminds me a lot about my childhood, having all of these friends and getting into trouble. Ahhh good times. I'm getting depressed, I should stop writting.

Precious Disney memories for me (not just childhood related):

*Watching Alice in Wonderland and Sleeping Beauty on video, my first movies.

*Being able to see some of the classics re-issued in cinemas (like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Cinderella, 101 Dalmatians)

*Being able to see the films of the last glory days of 2D animation on the big screen (like Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Pocahontas).

*Being able to watch Pinocchio, period.

*Going to Disneyland Paris and Walt Disney World and having fun, fun and additional fun.

*Listening to Disney CDs and tapes compulsively.

*Watching Disney videos (and now DVDs ) compuslively.

*Looking at foreign Disneyana when abroad.

*Re-experiencing The Little Mermaid last Summer.

Writing this post made me feel happy.

Wow guys I'm happy to see you're feeling the same way as I am...

Some of my most memorable Disney moments:

Going to buy The Little Mermaid the night before "Rosh Hashana" (the jews' new year's eve ). I was 6 years old and my mother bought it as a present for my sister and we watched it about a 100 times that holiday I remember how it became such a favourite for everyone who watched it, everyone bought it!


My mother bought me "Aladdin" for "Chanuka" (sp?) in December. It was already evening, so I spent the the night just looking at the cover and reading the synopsis, I just wanted to make the best of watching it for the first time on video and knowing there was school the next day would have just ruined that experience. I watched it the next day after school and it was amazing.


"Sleeping Beauty" has far been one of my favourite Disney movies ever and we used to watch it a lot when were little. But somehow with the new wave of Disney films in the 90's, it just got forgotten. But then in September 1995 it was back in theaters and I took my cousin to watch it with me (useless to say he asked me "can't we go see another movie?"
Man was I UPSET when he said that! When the "Once Upon A Dream" sequence came up, I had shivers I was all "It used to be my favourite part!"


There are so many Disney moments I'd like to share but I got tired Perhaps later

I remember When I saw The Lion King and How Happy I was. It was one of my favorite movies back then and it is still today . Then I remember Getting The Video and watching it over and over. I also reme,ber all they toys i had from the lion king.

While The Lion King was my favorite movie i remember aladdin much more. I remember some parts sitting at the theater. I also remember getting the tape as one of my birthday presents. same with Christmas I got the lamp and that was my favorite toy.

Oh, I feel exactly the same as Rodis. "The Little Mermaid" and "Beauty and the Beast" are integral parts to my childhood.

I remember sitting in the theater and bursting into tears when Ursula took Ariel's voice. And I still maintain that "Beauty and the Beast" is my favourite Disney movie.

And I remember getting all the promotional toys from McDonalds, the weird 3-D mugs from Pizza Hut and of course getting the videos for my birthday. I even had the "Beauty and the Beast" boardgame!
