I got Stitch! the Movie last tuesday! and guess what! no insert! or maybe my copy came without one! oh well! I've already seen the movie and it's not that bad! I actually liked it but........ I would not spend $20 for it! The least I would pay is $10 but it is a worth rental first! I haven't seen the special features yet. I will post more in a few. So if you have any questions on this or any other release just ask! I also have Lord of the Rings: Two Towers!

You know, you should get GOOD movies on DVD and then review them! Ah well. Was the animation kind of corny? And how was David and Nani's date (that's what I'm most interested in).

What do you mean get GOOD movies? I get all the new releases! hehe anyways. The backgrounds are faithful to the original but I have to question their authenticity, they look like watercolor but for been a sequel they look much like the original....unless they recycled backgrounds! Nani's date went great until she got home!

For comparison's sake...let's say L&S was a "10" in terms of animation quality, clarity and color. Where does Stitch! Rate? At first glance would you know this was a DTV piece?

Also, how good is the story? Is it engaging enough for young and old alike or does it genuinely feel like a pointless sequel storyline?

for been a sequel i give it a 8 1/2, you can tell it's a sequel due to the Character animation! if they have turn the notch up they probably would have gotten a 90% original feature character look. It has it's funny moments if you're a stitch fan you will be pleased! everyone comes back!

You can rarely tell that david's voice is not the original

My thoughts are, yes, it's disappointing when the sequels have animation that is poorer quality than the originals - but we have to be realistic, these sequels are made on a budget. Disney is complaining about the cost of their 2D animation (one of the reasons for - alledgedly - shutting it down). Unlike most people here I'm happy to have the sequels just to keep the flag of drawn animation flying at Disney, and the animation on the sequels is, as a trend, increasing in quality.

Besides, there's more to a Disney animated movie than the quality of animation. As I've always said, I enjoy a good Scooby Doo or Powerpuff Girls episode just as much as some Disney films. Heck, I even enjoy a Cool Cat cartoon just as much as some classic Looney Tunes.

Animation is not the main reason (to me) for enjoying these films.

I do on the whole. I'm just saying animation quality shouldn't be the deciding factor if you are on the fence about buying the DVD.

well if you read what i wrote i didnt say you should not buy it cause of animation quality, i was actually praising the animation.

No I was not commenting on your reply. I was saying to Indiana that (in my opinion) there is more to a film than the quality of the animation.

You replied to his question (saying it was quite good, but not as good as the original film). I was pointing out that really the animation quality shouldn't be a big issue (unless of course, I must add, it's Belle's Magical World or Hunchback II bad). I was commenting on the relevence of the original question. I made no comments on Stitch specifically, my only comment on animation quality was a general observation on the sequels in general.

Oh, I wholeheartedly agree and feel the same way.
However in one instance (or two) I have been completely turned off by the quality of the animation...enough so that I have turned the player off and gotten rid of the DVD (trade). I just wanted to make sure Stitch was not on that extreme side of the fence.

I hope it comes out here soon (I tend to get my 'sequel' fix locally...much cheaper that way).
Hope the Aussie copy isn't edited like the UK one...the OFLC didn't specify....

Yeah, I heard that his voice will be different. It's too bad. But looking at the Stitch! review topic, I doubt if I'll buy it. I haven't even got the original. Probably shouldn't have said that here.
