Hopefully there is not a discussion like this floating around somewhere already...

I was looking over upcoming movies being released by Disney, both big screen & DVD and had some comments.

The ONLY movies that look interesting to me will be The Adventures of Narnia, and possibly The Santa Clause 3 if it's done well. There was a cute souding one called American Dog and Valient looks interesting.

I hate remakes of classics like Herbie, Shaggy Dog & Swiss Family Robinson, I don't know why they bother, "if it's not broke, don't fix it"

As for DVD releases, I do hope they release The Little Mermaid in Plat. Edition next winter (2006) as is mentioned on the site as being "probable".

The whole Song of the South thing will be interesting to see if it develops or not also.

So Dear To My Heart is slated but no release date yet?

Will there be a Plat. Ed. of Dumbo anytime soon? I did see it said 2006 possible, but that would mean 3 releases in 2006, Little Mermaid, Dumbo, & Lady and the Tramp.

I'm really excited about Cinderella's PE release!

Dumbo isn't going to be part of the Platinum line, but there might be a Special edition release sometime in the next couple of years, I think.

Too bad, it's out now w/60th anniversary... might have to get it before it goes back in the vault.

Where can we find info on movies going "back in"

That's what I was wondering! I want a list of movies that are going to be discontinued and when.

I'm looking forward to Vintage Mickey (since I missed out on the 1st mickey in b&w treasures) and I might get the best of the Mickey mouse Club (the old one, not the Justin/Christina one ) for my mom because she LOVED that show.

I'm REALLY looking forward to Timeless Tales 1&2 coming out in August... but they come out the day I get back from my trip to Ireland so I KNOW I'll be low on funds then!! Maybe as xmas presents

And just like the rest of the world I'm on the edge of my seat for Cinderella!!!

I'm all over the Disneyland DVD .. I hope it's insightful and not the advertisment I half expect it to be!

I'll buy a Disney WORLD one as soon as they make it!! That's what I'm REALLY waiting for!

I don't think that DUmbo will get a Platinum Release. It is to bad that the Vualt Disney collection was discontinued, I thought it was terrific. I hope that they bring it back with Shaggy Dog, SHaggy D.A., Dr. Syn, and Tiger Town when they finally get released.

What was the Vault Disney Collection?

The Shaggy D.A. (original) is being released, I've seen cover art, but I'm not sure when.
