I was wondering, for those of you who have purchased this Walt Disney Treasure, what do you think about it?

I want to get it, but I was wondering how good is it?

I know that it is a collectable and with its limited quantity, it is worth it, but I justed wanted opinions from those of you who have purchased it.

What is on the DVD?

Thanks for any help.

I rented it first and, in the end, decided not to buy it. There's still a new/sealed copy available in a store near me, though, for $49.96 Canadian.

I can still get it here for $30, but I still haven't decided what I am going to do yet.

Generally, I go for the non-short Treasures on a case-by-case basis. The only ones I've bought so far are "Tomorrowland", "On the Front Lines", & "Behind the Scenes". I just couldn't see myself being terribly interested in "Disneyland USA", "Davy Crockett", or the "Mickey Mouse Club" sets. I've also read that "Disneyland USA" is the weakest of the Treasures line, so maybe you shouldn't bother with it unless you're a completist.

I bought it, but after watching it I decided to sell it on ebay. I enjoyed watching it, but it just wasn't a set I could see myself watching a second time.

It has been reviewed here at ud: http://www.ultimatedisney.com/disneylandusa.html

I really like this disc. All four episodes are a lot of fun to watch. On July 17 this year I'm going to watch the opeing of Disneyland.

I must preface that I am a Disneyland fanatic. I loved it.

The Louis Armstrong stuff was great. Kind of like the Fess Parker/Buddy Ebson segment too. Great interviews with Walt.

The only disadvantage of this tin is that it is cut and has stupid 'don't try this at home' messages on some 'dangerous' sections.
Otherwise it's pretty good.

It is my favorite, but then I have a lot of the old shows about disneyland on vhs tape from when they had vault disney. I really love those shows. I have a color version of the original 1955 "disneyland" that was released to theaters, it is great. I'd like to see another disc of these, and especially the opening of pirates and the opening of haunted mansion (with the osmand brothers running around the park). But I'm a disney fan, and I can see that these may not be of as wide appeal as the animated ones.

I'm one of those who say that this is the weakest of the Treasures. I still won't say it's uninteresting, though. The episodes are quite interesting and have a certain significance in the History of Disney. But the set isn't quite as interesting as the rest of the Treasures IMO. Add to that the fact that bits and pieces have been edited out and you have the weakest set in the WDT line. Still well worth having, though, for those who are a bit into Disney history.

It is a fun dvd set, I enjoy it, that's why I have it. A lot of nostalgic history. I highly suggest it to all. And also all of the Treasures are great.

If you like history

If you enjoy an historical aspect of Disney, you will probably like it.
If you just like the Disney pure entertainment productions (cartoons & tv shows), you may get bored.

It's really old old Disneyland shows, so you shouldn't be one of those "This stuff is cheesy, let's get to the cartoons (some in B&W)" types that doesn't like sitting through 30 minutes of talk each episode.
