It's hard for me to pick just one.

For me I have three that I can think of off the top of my head:

1. The Catcher in the Rye
2. 2001: A Space Odyssey
3. Three (not as popular as the 1st 2, but a great book by Ted Dekker, he writes some awesome books)

1. The Harry Potter Series (favorite: Order of the Phoenix)
2. The Alice Books (favorite: Alice in Wonderland)
3. The Chronicles of Narnia (favorite: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe)
4. A Wrinkle in Time
5. The Hitchhiker's "Trilogy" (favorite: Restaurant at the End of the Universe)

I listed so many series because I tend to group book series together when I like them, so if I were to list out my favorite books individually, Harry Potter alone would take up five spots, Alice two, etc. As you can see, I'm very much into fantasy (you won't find Lord of the Rings here, though, because though I love the stories, I find the writing to be incredibly tedious and flat).

3. The Chronicles of Narnia (favorite: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe)
I've been wanting to read these books for a while, hopefully once I get some time away from school I'll get a chance to read them.

There are many non-religious people who have read this series, and it's probably the reason why this series has done so well. I've never read any of them, but maybe once I get the time I will.

The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle....I love the movie,too...the book is fairly similar, but goes into more detail, and there are a couple more characters...

The Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling....I don't have a favorite for the books, but my favorite of the movies was Chamber of Secrets(I was disappointed that the third movie left out some of the details concering Harry's dad and his friends)...

Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman...really well-written book...I have no interest in seeing the movie version,though)...

The Left Behind Series....I'm not especially religious(I do go to church, though;I'm Catholic),but I found the series fascinating...
