Your graduation song?

Today I thought about the day of my middle school graduation (in the 8th grade) and was thinking about our song. I'msure many f you had the opportunity to pick your song, but we didn't. We HAD to so a Brian Adams song called "Everything I do". I thought it was corny when one of our teachers picked it and even when we sang it in graduation. But now it brings back memories of my wonderful years in grammar school.
So what was your graduation song? Middle school or not.

I don't remember what it's called, but it was some rap song that some guys in my grade chose. I'm not a big fan of rap music, and it wasn't really appropriate for a graduation song.

We weren't allowed to have a graduation song. Perhaps some of you remember the 2003 high school graduation that made national headlines in which a student was arrested because he softly shouted "Whoo!" while crossing the stage, followed by parents, grandparents, etc, being escorted out for applauding? Yeah, that was my graduation.
I did, however, suggest the very appropriate "Oh How The Years Go By," by Amy Grant. It was shot down so I just printed the lyrics to that and Vitamin C's song in our high school newspaper.

Now you've got me really curious, on what charges was this arrest based? And why even arrest him in the first place? That's very odd.
My Grad didn't have a song, it was a very boring time had by all

I think it was Graduation (Friends Forever) by Vitamin C for high school.
talk about original.
I could care less about the middle school days.

But I think it was probably some religious song. O_o
..I went to a private Catholic school.

That was my song during middle school graduation that happened almost 5 years ago. I cant remember my high school graduation song that happened less than a year ago. I know that's sad.

Yup, and my high school was only almost 2 years.
stupid class officers who couldn't think of an original song.

No grounds at all, other than the principal (truly the Trunchbull) insisted on a "dignified" ceremony and had asked that there be no cheering just prior to the commencement. Apparently she had told the police to enforce it and they abided as if she were their chief or something. Of course nothing came of it except a media firestorm that lasted for about six months. We were in newspapers from Carolina to California and on national TV news networks.

Well, my High School did the Vitamin C song "Friends forever" also but I really didn't like that theme.
I prefer " I Will Remember You" from Sarah McLachlan.

...The band played an instrumental of School's Out by Alice Cooper at the end of the ceremony...soo I'll say it was that. Even though I don't know, and don't care

My class sung a song I wrote, entitled "What You've Done for Me." It got a very good response. I wish I could find someone to record it, or at least help me to record it myself.

Hey, hey, hey. He wrote it... but he wrote it
for someone else to perform in concerts, and it was originally released as a duet
with someone else (whose band he was a member of at the time), which catapaulted him to solo success, and then by himself, and again in 2003
with someone else again (along with a few others). I'll let you guess who that other person is.
It's a great song!!

Ok, try to remember this was 1996...
but our graduation song was Boyz II Men - End of the Road.
I shudder now when I think about it, as it was sung by the resident school equivalent of the B2M.
If I could do it all over again, I would have chosen some big dumb rock song or a classically inappropriate song (David Bowie - Rock N Roll Suicide or Ziggy Stardust).

You and me both. I would have gone with Pink Floyd - Another Brick in the Wall Part 2 probably.
Undoubtedly, that would ruffle someone's feathers for one reason or another.
