Re: The Swan Princess
My dear forum friend, I think you missed my point. Some people feel not all children or anyone around the world should be celebrating Christmas unless they are Christian. And Richard Rich wants his Swan Princess characters to be Christian.

Re: The Swan Princess
For one, many families around the world DO celebrate Christmas but only as a reason to gather with family and celebrate. For example, in Morocco, Christmas is a big thing for kids even though most people there are not christians.
Second, even if you were right, you forget that making movies is a business and Sony want to make as much money as possible on a worldwide scale and that's why they asked Rich to make a new entry for The Swan Princess to begin with. So from a business point of view, the film doesn't make sense. The religion of the characters was never brought up in the first three films and that's why having a religious message in the fourth bothers me. It doesn't follow the storytelling formula of the trilogy.
I'm pretty sure that the characters from Beauty And The Beast are christians as well but it's handled with subtlety in The Enchanted Christmas.

I know that many people around the world celebrate Christmas without being Christian. Some people feel that is wrong. I don't, but I'm saying Richard Rich feels that way. You are right about it not being a good way to make a Christmas movie in the Swan Princess franchise, but Christmas is sacred to Richard Rich and he made it the way he felt was morally right.

Re: The Swan Princess
An 11th film is in the works!
Source: https://www.swanprincessseries.com/blog ... tured-newsWe've heard a lot of rumors going around about the next Swan Princess film to be released. We are finally able to tell the fans that the eleventh Swan Princess film is now beginning production. There is not yet a title, not even a preliminary title. If you've heard of any existing titles for this film, they are fictional since our only working title is Swan Princess 11 (which obviously won't be the actual title).
Source: https://www.swanprincessseries.com/blog ... tured-newsOur newest feature film, Swan Princess 11, is in production and is well on its way! While the details of this film are still top secret, we are excited to share how much fun we are having with the music that will be included in the new film. There are even more ensemble production numbers than in previous films and we can't wait for fans to hear this incredible new music.
Source: https://www.swanprincessseries.com/blog ... tured-newsWe were excited to check in with Joe Campana, the Editor that has worked on every single Swan Princess film. He gave us a little progress report on, Swan Princess 11, our film that is currently in production. He says that the coloring process has begun. "We have completed about 30 scenes in color. There are about 1400 scenes. So most of the movie footage is still in greys with no color. Coloring requires layers of layers of work. It is as much labor, if not more, than everything that is done before color. First a color texture maps is placed on the characters. Then lighting is added. There are lighting guides written for each setting and character so that the lighting stays consistent." We are grateful such a talented and dedicated team is working on this swanderful addition to the Swan Princess story!

Re: The Swan Princess
I can't believe people still buy them... I gave up after number 5.
Re: The Swan Princess
An 11th film will be called "The Swan Princess: A Fairytale Is Born", is rated PG for mild thematic elements.

On the series' official website a dairy of Odette is posted monthly, and the January entry makes me think the movie will talk about Odette's mother for the first time.

You were right, MaQu!
Source: https://www.swanprincessseries.com/blog ... ruary-2023We are pleased to announce that the title of the new film will be The Swan Princess: A Fairytale is Born and the story will be a prequel! It will show the events that happened before and that lead up to the story of the original Swan Princess film. Of great delight has been to do our latest addition to the series, “A FairyTale is Born” the musical prequel to the original Swan Princess. It will be released in the very near future by Sony Pictures.

Re: The Swan Princess
There's no way the prequel would be hand-drawn (right?!), which is a shame. For continuity I guess...
Re: The Swan Princess
I’m really so excited about the prequel idea. There is just so many fun stuff they can do with the story. I wonder at what age will Odette be present, and if there will be callbacks to “This Is My Idea”. Could Rothbart be a villain? I wonder how they will deal with the animal sidekicks, since they were in all of the previous movies, but they should be absent in this one.
I don’t expect a good animation, even for a small studio, these CGI sequels look cheap. I guess the animation is better with each movie, at least?
I know The Swan Princess sequels are panned, but I can’t help but be curious about them. I like that they never changer the director or the writer, it’s still the same group of people from the original movie. Even when they have ideas that are total nonsense (I still can’t believe they introduced a new squirrel sidekick, killed him and made him appear as a ghost from that point), at least it’s the original creator’s vision, right?
One thing that I’m already happy with is confirmation the prequel will be a musical. The Swan Princess CGI sequels managed to release some really nice earcatching tunes, like “Always With You”, “Home To Me”, “Man Up!”, “Goodbye” and “In Time”.

Re: The Swan Princess
Poster and plot for the movie. So it's not really a prequel?
Queen Wixom is a character previously only mentioned, back in the Swan V!
Source: https://www.swanprincessseries.com/blog ... tured-newsTravel back to the beginning of a 20-year Swan Princess journey to see how it all began! Before becoming queen, Uberta lived a humble life with her husband Maximillian when she is suddenly thrust into royalty. Through triumph and tragedy, she learns the lessons needed to become a beloved Queen, all while raising the next generation of rulers. Re: The Swan Princess
My understanding it's a sequel that includes flashbacks. So, it's more of a sequel/prequel hybrid. I'm surprised they are making Odette queen given the franchise is called The Swan Princess.

Re: The Swan Princess
The guy next to Uberta is her husband??? What happened to the conductor she was with in the first film? It does make me laugh a little though, he's like a boy toy the way Kronk is for Yzma. I've never actually watched any of the sequels to this, they look as bad as the DTV sequels or the Land Before Time sequels. Of course, I was really young when the TLBT ones first started coming out, so I've seen a few of them even though they were terrible.
I think a passing of the baton from Uberta to Odette sounds sort of cute. The three dogs look like warped Oliver & Company designs (Rita, Francis, and Sykes' pets specifically).

That's her husband who passed away and Derek's father. The new movie will contain flashbacks involving Uberta's past.Disney's Divinity wrote: ↑Wed Apr 26, 2023 6:16 pm The guy next to Uberta is her husband??? What happened to the conductor she was with in the first film?

This thread is so funny and nightmare-inducing at the same time.
Oh, I just want to throw up for hours, and hours, and days. And it would be semi-okay if they only did it once (in 3D), but EIGHT TIMES???? Do they not have eyes???

Re: The Swan Princess
The Swan Princess film series is ending. The 12th movie will be the last one.
The last film will show us the wedding of Bridget and Chamberlain.
Source: https://www.swanprincessseries.com/blogs/news/may-2023We are proud to announce that Swan Princess 11 is part one of the Swan Princess Animated Series conclusion. We can't wait to see what is in store for these incredible characters' final chapters. What do you hope to see in the final film?
Source: https://www.swanprincessseries.com/blog ... tured-newsSwan Princess 12 is on its way! We are proud to announce that Swan Princess 11 is the first half of a two part film finale. Swan Princess 12, part two of the finale, will be the very last animated Swan Princess film made. While we are sad to see this historic series end, we are so excited to see what this final adventure has in store for our favorite characters!
The last film will show us the wedding of Bridget and Chamberlain.
Source: https://www.swanprincessseries.com/blog ... tured-newsAs much as I have wanted to read my mother's diary, I have been too busy to find the time. June is closing in and, as the most popular season for weddings, Bridget and Chamberlain's wedding is fast approaching. I’ve decided that reading the diary will be my reward for a job well done planning the ceremony. Chamberlain has been very helpful with planning ideas. He has spent many years as the head event planner for everything Queen Uberta wanted to do. Because of his experience, he knows that he wants his wedding to be as stress free and simple as possible. No pageantry, no 12 layer cake, no large crowds. After all, Bridget doesn’t really know about royal etiquette, outside of the basics that I’ve taught her. She doesn't want something fancy, just a celebration of two people later in life finding and being in love. Honestly, I think that’s very sweet. Simple and elegant is going to be the theme, and I’m excited to get to it!
Source: https://www.swanprincessseries.com/blog ... tured-newsJune is here at last, the season of weddings! The Kingdom of Swan Lake has had construction work done in the castle on the lake where Rothbart used to live as well as the gardens. It is looking wonderful enough to live in! It will be a beautiful place to hold Bridget and Chamberlain's wedding. The transformation of the grounds perfectly mirrors the transformation of Bridget herself. Of course, it’s important to think of Chamberlain as well, but I know he will love to see her so happy at such a meaningful place for her. Bridget once confided in me that she never thought she would find love, especially at her age, but love can be found at any time. It’s never too late to live your best life, and I want to give her the best day. It’s so exciting!
Source: https://www.swanprincessseries.com/blog ... tured-newsThe day is here at last, and I can hardly believe it! Swan Lake’s castle looks just as it would have in its prime. Bridget and Chamberlain's wedding ceremony was in the garden and it was lovely. Even if she was too proud to admit it, I noticed Queen Uberta crying during Chamberlain's vows. From what she’s told me, he’s been employed at the castle even before she became Queen, so he’s been part of her life even before she knew she had any royal blood in her. Bridget’s vows were of few words, but even I felt myself tear up at them. They both have been through a lot, and I’m so happy to have been here for this special moment. I had my mother’s diary with me as well, so it felt like she was there with me. Love is what makes life truly meaningful.
Source: https://www.swanprincessseries.com/blog ... tured-newsIt’s almost strange to not be in wedding planning mode anymore, but as is the life of a royal, the moment one event ends, planning for another begins. Bridget and Chamberlain are happily off on their honeymoon, so we will need to be stepping up to do more of the behind the scenes work while we anxiously await their safe return. I believe this is a good chance for Alise to learn how event planning works. It will give her something fun to do as the summer winds down, and she even gets her own Chamberlain outfit! She seems quite excited. In the meanwhile, I can finally look into my mother’s diary that I found at Swan Lake. I don’t think anyone will mind if I take a week or so for myself.

That whole website feels like a 1999 GeoCities/Angelfire fanpage. I know it's official, but my brain refuses to believe it.
