The Swan Princess, a magical, musical animated adventure based on the classic fairy tale "Swan Lake" has captured the hearts of audiences around the world. The winner of the Film Advisory Board Award of Excellence and the Parents' Choice Award, it's the heartwarming story of the beautiful princess Odette, who is transformed into a swan by an evil sorcerer's spell. Held captive at an enchanted lake, she befriends Jean-Bob the frog, Speed the turtle and Puffin the bird. Despite their struggle to keep the princess safe, these good-natured creatures can do nothing about the sorcerer's spell, which can only be broken by a vow of everlasting love. The Swan Princess is bursting with color, dazzling animation, beautiful music and the vocal talents of Jack Palance, John Cleese, Steven Wright, Sandy Duncan and Michelle Nicastro.
The 25 anniversary Blu-ray release includes an all-new featurette entitled “A Look Back, Tease Ahead,” plus a variety of additional archival features.
I'm glad to see the recognition the film gets with the gathering and the upcoming Blu Ray release! I've always felt that this film doesn't truly get the recognition that it deserves!
I'm glad this film finally got a Blu-Ray release. It's been long overdue.

Thanks for posting that article/interview, DisneyFan09!
So if I understand it right, Richard Rich was given the option to make these recent sequels using hand-drawn animation and he said no because he -- and surprisingly not the studio -- thought kids wouldn't be interested in a 2D movie? That's somewhat strange, especially because he also doesn't seem to put much value in CG other than being able to play around with the camera and that it makes the characters look consistent from one scene to another.
You know what? The remarkable thing about the livestream and the articles about it's 25th Anniversary celebrates the movie as it has a huge amount of followers. It's IMDb rating is remarkably low and the same could overall be said about it's fanbase. Which is a pity, since I've always felt the film deserved to do better.

Princess Odette has been called by the beautiful Princess Mei Li who is planning to marry her one true love, Chen. Upon Odette’s arrival she quickly discovers that everything is not as it should be. And not everyone is WHO they should be! The evil sorceress Fang has once again cast an evil spell, launching a plan to marry Chen herself. With the wedding quickly approaching, it is up to Mei Li's loving brother Prince Li along with Princess Odette and the rest of her royal friends to break the curse so the real Princess Mei Li can marry Chen and live happily ever after.
How do they break the spell?! I'm a little intrigued; I've only ever seen the original, but darn it, I'm intrigued. But wow the animation- when Jean Bob and friends are being pushed by magic or whatever and falling down the hole...

That's probably where they got the inspiration from lol. Just somebody random they saw around an office.
