Here are some links:

Hopefully, Disney will officially release the specifications and synopsis after October 7.

I think that instead of Lion King 1 1/2, I'd like to see Timon and Pumba be released in box sets by seasons.

I saw the original Timon meets Pumba episode. It was, in my opinion, just as good as the original. I thought it was excellent. Timon had to choose between a beautiful merkat (spelling?) girl and a fortune, and Pumba. We all know what happens. I believe it was the monkey man who told the story to Zazu (the bird), and then Simba pops up in the middle. It was good.

I get the feeling the actual Timon/Pumba meeting will be a small part of The Lion King 1 1/2 - perhaps shown as a flashback sequence. So it could build on the TV episode, virtually ignore it (but not contradict it) or totally ignore it and have a new first meeting.

But the bulk of the film is supposed to be on (young) Simba's time with Timon and Pumba - showing 'new' bits that were skipped over in the original movie.

The Lion King 1 1/2 was originally planned as a direct-to-video release, it was upped to theatrical release, then sent back down to a direct-to-video again in May 2003. Recent reports now suggest this has now been downgraded to a straight-to-video release.

Company credits:

- Walt Disney Television Animation, DisneyToon Studios.
- Animation Studio: Walt Disney Television Animation (Australia) Pty. Limited.
- Distributed by: Buena Vista Home Video

Theses are unconfirmed rumors:

According to the current TLK 1.5 script, this midquel will include the following things:

-The first meeting between Timon and Pumbaa. In other words, how and when the duo met.

-Tells the Lion King story from the perspective of Timon and Pumbaa.

-Explains many of the plot holes that were created with the Sequel Simba’s Pride. TLK 1.5 will explain why Scar’s followers (the outlanders) did not fight against Simba in the fight that crippled Scar.

-See the animated version of Warthog Rhapsody that was cut from TLK. The song may be renamed Meerkat Rhapsody.

-See Simba actually grow up with Timon and Pumbaa instead of the scene that just shows different stages of Simba growing up in TLK.

Please note that the information here is not final and can change.

Starion wrote:Find out that Nala is Scar’s daughter. The proof that this is true is in TLK. If Nala was Mufusa’s daughter, she would to be killed as well or else Scar would not become king. If Nala’s father was Mufusa (and Mufusa and Simba are dead), then Nala’s mate would have become King.
There's a little problem with the first:

-First Nala couldn't be Scar's daughter, You see in the broadway play Scar wants to shag Nala, so i doubt he would shag his daughter and also nala's mom was not Zira not that it matter if she was or not. Also Mufasa couldnt be Simba's sister since they're to be married when older, same for the latter if Nala was Scar's daughter that would make them first cousins and i would doubt Disney would portrait that kind of marriage on any animated movie!
