I hope you don't mind me starting a new thread for this... but I have seen almost everywhere, Sleeping Beauty, being advertised as "Available for a limited time only!"....

I haven't even seen this for The Lion King...

I think that this is due to the reissue that is sure to come, noe that it is part of the Platinum collection...

Just some food for thought

Last Time Sleeping Beauty was Re-issued on VHS was in October 98 and didnt go out of print till late 99

Now we know it has a commentary, I honestly cannot think of anything that Disney could add for a Platinum release...

...apart from more pointless set-top games of course

Assuming that the number of copies produced is in the same ballpark as the Platinums, then even if it is Available for a Limited Time, I'm guessing it will still be not-too-difficult to get for at least a few years to come, a la Snow White.

Snow White is still available at amazon.com, but I think that Beauty and the Beast The Enchanted Christmas has run out (probably Disney scared everyone really badly, that they must have this "holiday CLASSIC" for their collection)

Hopefully DIsney will give us a date of when titles go into the vault. I got "Scared" and got some of the titles that are now in the vault. I hope they don't do this to sleeping beauty though. Generations to come need these movies, especially if disney might really get rid of 2D (see other thread on that).

Yeah, I got scared also into buying Peter Pan 1 & 2, and then I found out that there would be a Platinum...

I'm sure that ALL Disney movies will be re-released again and again, or else I will cry like mad.

EDIT: No wait, I didn't buy them, my parents and my friends got them for me.

Yeah, only two and a half more weeks until Sleeping Beauty comes out! The cashier at the Disney Store asked me if I wanted to pre-order the movie. Unfornately, I didn't have any extra cash with me.

I saw some cardboard advertisments for Stitch! The Movie and The Lion King, but none for Sleeping Beauty. I wished Disney would do more to advertise and promote Sleeping Beauty.

I wonder when Disney will put Sleeping Beauty in Moratorium.

well, according to their new schedule, it will be 2 years before Sleeping Beauty goes back into the vault.

Have they really not promoted Sleeping Beauty in Ameria yet? I wish I was surprised, but I'm not. The UK 2 disc release didn't even get a press release. Amazon.co.uk didn't add it to their site until a few days after its release

I've seen pictures of Aurora on a TV, but that's about it. The advertisment for the TV didn't even say when Sleeping Beauty will come out. The Disney Store I went to did not advertise Sleeping Beauty. At the check-out counter, the cashier at the Disney Store asks everyone if they want to Pre-order the Lion King and Sleeping Beauty.

I saw some costumes and clothes for Sleeping Beauty, but that's about it.

Most online stores are advertising Sleeping Beauty in their "Comming Soon" movie sections. Disney might advertise Sleeping Beauty in the US Sunday advertisment section this Sunday or next Sunday. I'll watch the Disney Channel to see if Disney is running any TV ads.

I have seen a bunch of advertisements on my DVDs, but that's all. I hope that it does well, anyway.

The DVD sales rank on Amazon.com is 35. Not bad at all.

I'm not a big Peter Tchaikovsky fan, but I'd love to watch Sleeping Beauty for fun and to view all the behind-the-scenes documentaries.

I didn't see any newspaper avertisments promoting Sleeping Beauty today. I saw Toys R Us advertising The Lion King though. The TV commercials for The Circle Of Life sing-along DVD is becoming more common. I still haven't seen any TV commercials for Sleeping Beauty.

I haven't seen Sleeping Beauty or The Lion King being advertised as "Available for a limited time only!" in the US.

There are some new Sleeping Beauty items on DisneyStore.com including Limited Edition Collectibles.

The case opens up like a book to show off the discs, and it has a pocket to hold a collector’s booklet. I think the case for Roger Rabbit's Vista Series "opens like a book."

As its name implies, this packaging opens up like a book. Some styles are molded on both sides, with room for a disc on both flaps. Most of the printed material is on the outside of the package and, if there is only one disc, on the left inside flap. Some styles have a molded tray on the right and a paperboard flap on the left and the back. If desired, the left flap may have several fold-out parts, allowing extensive graphics.

The "Book" style has several types of closure. Some snap shut, some are secured with small flaps, and other styles fit together tightly. Some "Books" allow for folders within the paperboard for additional printed material.

Sleeping Beauty is going to come just like Beauty and the Beast the only thing that opens the flap to show the content of discs. in other words is a slip over the amaray.

Thanks for clearing up the confusion MickeyMouseboy. It seems that the Sleeping Beauty case will be like the Beauty and The Beast case, not Roger Rabbit.

I may be in the minority here, but I kinda like those slip-case covers.
