Summer Magic frustration

I watched an old VHS edition of this movie on the weekend.... I think it is a great movie, but was left frustrated with how the movie ends.. It just ends so suddenly and you are left with questions...
Is anyone else frustrated by this ? I felt it spoilt the movie...
