i have been watching the old specials like peter cottontail,jack frost,and frosty and i wondered what other ones you think i sould buy?


also what ones do you like? perhaps we can say fave quotes of them as well

at the time i have The Original Television Christmas Classics: Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer / Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town / Frosty the Snowman / Frosty Returns / The Little Drummer Boy,Jack Frost,The Year Without a Santa Claus/Nestor, the Long-Eared Christmas Donkey/Rudolph's Shiny New Yearand Here comes peter cottontail.


and last of all is mad moster party any good? can you show me clips?

Anyways I can't recommend any really since it's been so long since I've seen any. I also have that Original Television Christmas Classics that you have. When that came out I could only find it at Sunrise and all my friends missed it and now they are all jealous.

I want to get Mad Monster Party as well.

please... anyone share your thoughts.

Year without Santa Claus is a classic!

Heatmizer was my fav..

My top three favorites would be.... Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman and The Year Without a Santa Claus.

I taped them from television like CBS and ABC Family Channel but plan on buying them his year.

Well,it's not a holiday special,but my favorite Rankin Bass animation is The Last Unicorn(which was based on a book by Peter S.Beagle)...I also like the original Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,Frosty the Snowman,and Year Without a Santa Claus...

I love Frosty the Snowman!!! It's just not Christmas without it!

I wouldn't be surprised if there's a lot of truth in that.

I love all of Rankin-Bass' stuff and own most of their Christmas specials on DVD. Year Without A Santa Claus is hands-down my favorite. Whatever happened to the live-action remake???

Well, after making The Year Without Santa Clause.. There wasn't much work for a red headed flame like hair type of actor..so I heard he settled down and started a family, was selling fire insurance (how ironic).. It's good to see he passed along the acting bug to his sons.. (boy Syndrome & Adult Syndrome).

The only one I have is The Hobbit, which isn't bad. The music is crazy! The big war scene is pretty weak though.

Anyway, I thought it was really nice that some of this work was recognized in the commentary of the Incredibles DVD.

Yes, they both are. I'd love to see Flight of Dragons get released on DVD!

I almost bought the 5-disc Christmas holiday box set with all the specials last year (including Rudolph, Frosty, Nester, and such) but hoped the price would go down after Christmas. Silly me, I should have learned from my mistake just a few months before:

I almost bought Mad Monster Party last halloween but they shipped the DVD's back after the holiday and I was a little too late. This year, I'll be ready, I swear!

I loved these as a kid (well, except for Mad Monster Party since I've never seen it) but I think I under-appreciated them for while. I've been dying to give them a fresh look in the past few years.

They're not remastered or anything but you get most of the christmas movies in 1 set.

They run so frequently on TV, that I just taped rudolph, the year without a santa claus, santa clause is coming to town, and rudolph's shiney new year. I almost hate to buy them on DVD because they come on TV every year, and I don't think I'd watch them very much.

Well October 31st is near and I still have not got nor seen Mad Monster Party but I was planing on (eye twichs) blind buying it but I wondered the SAME thing I wondered about 'Here Comes Peter Cottontail'. I wonder how do the 2 dvds (NEW: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000A0 ... d&v=glance
