When I purchased this I thought it would be exactly the same as the rest in the set, by exactly the same I mean in looks/tint/tin etc etc.. anyway when it arrived I was so displeased! first off the tin itself has a slightly different tint of silver... for a collector that is kind of annoying because when I look at it on my shelf it stands out compared to the rest... then another thing the case itself was white? EW! the rest of the set has black cases so even if I wanted to put it on my shelf I couldnt with out having to go out and purchase one... but I figured I would call the disney movie club and find out what the frick is up.. so they gave me the disney consumer 800 number and they were happy to help. They sent out a black case to match the rest and let me keep the white one free of charge. Im a bit more satisfied now that the rest of the set matches that one except for the tin. I also explained that to them and they said they were getting a lot of complaints about this very same issue and that she would put the "word" in. I hope they do something about this for future releases in this series. ok thats all.. anyone else share this experience?

I'm sure they've gotten a lot of complaints about the recent wave of Treasures. The missing bands (which likely has to do with Roy Disney's resignation), no printing on the back of the tins themselves, and of course, the white keepcases.

I'm really not concerned about any of that. Just whatever that was included while shrinkwrapped must remain to keep me happy. The only thing I'm missing from my entire Treasures collection is the band for Mickey Mouse In Living Color #1 (I got it used on eBay, I got everything else with it though), so I still need to call Disney and ask if I can have that replaced.

Much like HalFan my reaction is who cares. The content is what counts.

I do and so do others. And no the content is not what only counts, its what it comes in as well. As a collector these things can be quite annoying. If I am going to pay for something I want to be satisfied. Now thats what counts! so shove it... Image

Look, there's no reason to tell him to "shove it". He just stated his opinion. But anyways, the packaging on the new Treasures is in the white keepcases, but really, it's just a case. and in terms of the Tin, there's nothing different about mine, it fits in perfectly. No different colour or anything. Must've been a dud one you got. Who knows.

Whatever. If I get anymore of this series I will most likely just throw away the tin. One less thing to clutter up the house.

I don't really like the changes either and I know content counts most of all but the way it is presented matters a lot to me. I hate when things are designed poorly and if it's inferior to previous waves I can't stand it. I know that doesn't matter to a lot of people and that is partly why Disney can get away with it. :P

Replacing the white case is simple, though, if you can find empty double alpha or similar cases. It takes a bit more work, but it should also be possible to make blue bands for the wave 4 tins.

A lot more questionable about the Pluto set is the double-dipping of a not very well-researched selection of Mickey Mouse shorts instead of making it a "Complete Pluto", as some of us think they could have done.

Can I just directly complain to whoever answers about the crappy packaging and the Bambi slipcover w/ goo? Would the operator have any clue what I'm talking about?

Look it buddy, we have done a lot of work on this board to keep it polite and not have the normal flaming board the disintegrates into nothing but rudeness. If your not prepared to treat the people on this board with a little bit more respect, I am sure there are thousands of other boards on the internet on which you will be more at home.

Yeah, these changes weren't for the better.

Let's hope Roy can somehow fix what Disney's trying to mess up.

Boy, does that sound strange...

I don't like the changes but the quality of the films are what counts in my book and they look nice as usual. :P

This is the same person who claimed that, "Laserdiscs were a huge joke," and "I am so glad they didnt last very long but they actually lasted longer then I originally had thought..."

His posts are so consistently infantile and ignorant, that I simply ignore him altogether; it makes reading this site a much more pleasant experience. :) I suggest that you do the same. In fact, if we simply all ignore him, maybe he'll go away. :o
