I've just read that the release date for Batman: The Animated Series Vol. 3 is May 24th, 2005.

Any fans hanging around?

I'm a fan but I won't be buying this yet. Before I start buying this I should catch up on other series plus I have always wanted to start collecting 'Smallville' on DVD.

Agreed! Even though I think it has some rough looking animation, the style and the storytelling really sell me on Batman. I've also quite enjoyed the Superman Animated set and the Justice League releases.

As for Smallville, I would like to start getting that, too. I've finally opened up a slot now that I've got the last season of Angel out of the way.

I really enjoy SuperFriends. I have the first DVD release on that single disc. Anyways I might pick up those sets too eventually but right now I enjoy watching Superfriends late Saturday nights on YTV.

I'm glad the Batman boxsets have been a big hit! I only own the first one as of now, but I'm sure I'll eventually get 2 (and 3). The reason I haven't purchased volume two yet is because I haven't actually rewatched volume one much, and the fact that lately I've been cutting back on my DVD purchases. So for now it's sitting on that list of "will buy sometime, just not sure when" DVDs.

Does any one know if they are going to put out special; editions of any of the Batman movies with "Batman Begins" movie coming out.

I'm not sure about the animated ones, but the live action movies will be coming out in special editions a month prior.

The original Batman film is so barebones I'm suprised that it has interactive menus.

As I recall the first Batman was one of the first titles available on DVD so not surprising as extras had not yet been explored.

I've heard that they will release the Batman movies this year with a special editon of the first movie atleast but I'm guessing they will all get madeover. I read some news about it but that was almost half a year ago.

I'd be interested in getting Batman and Batman Returns, but I don't think Joel Shumacher was a good fit with the Batman franchise.

Batman can be a great character when handled correctly.

I would get them all even if they really deteriorate in quality. I'm hoping for a nice box set with them all in it as well as them being sold individulally so they don't screw fans who won't touch the box set because of 'Batman & Robin'. I think that's what they did with the Robocop set at first... put them all together in one and none individual so it turned off many.

If anyone is interested they are releasing a single disc of The Batman...

I think it's a horrible show but it may have its fans.

I'm not a fan of the new Batman series, either. I can't figure out why they wanted to fix something that wasn't broken.

I'm not saying it's better then Batman: The Animated Series or Batman Beyond but remember The Batman is about Batman's first year in crime fighting and also Warner Brothers wanted to get viewers to watch it and to watch Batman Begans. I thought The Batman is a great show also the new the Batmobile and Batman gagets are awesome.

Hasbro lost their toy licence to Mattel. And Mattel put a lot of pressure on Warner Bros to make a new-look cartoon series, so that they could release a "new and innovative" line of toys, rather than carry on with the Batman: Animated line, which is well-over and decade old and Mattel were afraid would make them appear to be "old fashioned".

So it's all because they wanted to make new toys. Literally. They trashed the whole Batman: The Animated Series legacy so Mattel could make some different toys.

And then people complain about Eisner and Disney

I knew a new Batman would eventually happen but not when the other was still popular.
I wonder if this was the cause of Paul Dini leaving WB or maybe him leaving started a ripple effect. I bet this was what made him leave.

I'm going to try and watch 'The Batman' again today but I still think its garbage.
