Boxed Sets - Whaddaya Think?

Ever since I finally got my Gargoyles Season 1 set, I've been hoping Disney would announce more of their TV cartoons as boxed sets. Is there enough interest out there for the following sets:
Ducktales: The Complete First Season
-They'd HAVE to include a "Father of Duckburg" Carl Barks tribute!
Rescue Rangers: Season One
Gummi Bears: The Complete Series
-If memory serves me, one six disc set could get the whole series.
DarkWing Duck: Year One
-Special Features include: Jim Cummings, The Man Behind the Quack
Gargoyles: Season Two
-That's when it really got good!
So... whaddaya think?

All those series that you mentioned should be released!
I see EBAY members selling Bootlegged versions of these series and getting MORE money than what Disney would actually sell them for (if they even were released).
I feel sorry for those people who spend SOO Much for LITTLE quality!
Disney SHOULD release those series soon! *crosses fingers especially for Gummi Bears, Rescue Rangers, and Darkwing Duck*

Rescue Rangers and certainly Ducktales would probably be popular enough to merit release. I imagine they would need remastering work after a couple of decades though.

I would hope we start getting sets of these series before the end of the year. "Gargoyles" was a set that was done right. While I can't imagine the other shows have creators and producers as enthusiastic in seeing them come to DVD, they do have huge followings and as Disney's list of unavailable big name titles shrinks, you'd have to think they'll consider more of the highly profitable TV on DVD sets.

I'd probably buy half of their animated shows on DVD before 1995. Well I would atleast buy a few of them. I grew up with Gummi Bears, DuckTales, TailSpin and the rest and they are some of my childhood favourites. If I get atleast those three and maybe a few more I really would like I would be so happy. (then I could focus my attention on getting the complete series of The Raccoons on DVD and not best of volumes that are out now... but that's not Disney)

Doug was with Nick at first and then moved to ABC as "Brand Spankin' New Doug" so I'm not sure where the rights fall for that. I would guess that Disney has the rights to Muppet Babies now too, though it wasn't their's to begin with.
Salute Your Shorts, Hey Dude, and Are You Afraid of the Dark will almost certainly be making their way to DVD in the Rewind Collection.

I'd really like to see the Aladdin series on dvd. Whoa...that'd be great. Little Mermaid was okay, too, but Duck Tales is a must-have. I'm not too worried...it seems like EVERY tv show is being released on dvd these days.
I wonder why they haven't done it already for the more popular shows. Is it because they're all still running on Toon Disney or whatever, and they're still making money off them?

Bonkers

if they are playing on toon disney(and playing well) then that would only rush them to produce the dvd set. I think that Gargoyles was a test run to see how they'd do. i mean they get so much crap from us about the direct to video sequels, i bet they are afraid to release the tv series's bc they are made by the same people and mess with the story lines of the original movies even further! i have no doubt in my mind that they will release them though, it's just a question of time.

Yeah, I don't think they've hesitated on the DVD's because they're playing on ToonDisney. Gargoyles is on there as well. I think it's a matter of how "in tune" they are with the public vs. what their marketing data tells them should the next big thing. No one wants to be the guy at Disney who lost the company 50 million dollars printing DVD's that no one wants.
It'll probably just take a continued effort on our part.

Tv Tome says there was 65 episodes, I'm not an expert on how much can go on a DVD but I think there would have to be atleast 2 releases

I am being really hopeful on DVD box sets.
September 2005 = 20 anniversary of Walt Disney Television Animation
This would be a wonderful reason to release them. Another good reason is that all of the old shows (except for Tale Spin) are not longer aired in the US. This could be because they are planning on DVD's and want this to be the only way to see the shows. Gosh I hope so. I am a huge fan of Gummi Bears and have even started making my own DVD's with the best quality I can muster. I have tons of the other series on tape, but DVD sets would be sublime.
*Keep your fingers crossed

I LOVED Gargoyles while it was on air. I have the VHS movie/game (released a few years ago) as well as Season 1 on DVD. I'd be thouroughly happy if they released Season 2 soon.

Thanks for the info about the 65 episodes of Gummi Bears. I haven't seen that show since it's original airings, so I wasn't positive on an episode count. Two or Three Volumes would definitely get them all though.

Ideally I would love one giant volume but the chances of that happening are less than 1% I bet.
