Today I decided to do 2099net's job and check the bbfc for any possible disney features or films being rated (its always a good sign of what's going to be released soon). Anyways I though I'd see how long ago the features for "Make Mine Music" had been rated and noticed by the 1946 rating of the movie that it had been cut.

Because this is so long ago now the bbfc can't be bothered to put up all the reasons why all the films they've ever rated had been cut and so no reason was stated but I was wondering whether anyone else knew why.

The film has been rated 3 times over here and their running times are...
1946) 74:51 (with cut(s))
1987) 71:46 (no cut(s))
2000) 64:57 (no cuts made by the bbfc but we know that disney cut this film themselves).
so thats around 3 minutes cut back in 1946 so I wonder what it is. Someone say's on a review of the video on amazon.co.uk that the "Casey at the Bat" was cut in half on the 2000 video (I've not seen this section so I don't know if this is true) so that could be what has been cut maybe?

anyone know?

Yeah, I noticed the original release cut. Not sure what it was, but the BBFC were rather backward in those days. It was the board of film CENSORSHIP in those days, not CLASSIFICATION :)

Scenes of cleveage from the Icabod section of Icabod and Mr Toad film were snipped on it's original UK release (I read somewhere).

I doubt it was anything substantial. The 80's release is shorter due to the famous 4% PAL speedup and the 2000 release does have the Martins and the Coys edited out.

Actually now I think about it, I bet it was that naked lady from "All the Cats Join In".

Thanks for the info 2099net.
