Yesterday, I lent a friend Lady and the Tramp as she claimed that she had never properly seen it. I was really surprised at this, for as a child, I had seen all of the animated films that Disney had released (except for the package features, which I believe won't released until around 2000). This got me thinking, how many of Disney's animated films did you only see as an adult?

I know that I first saw Lilo and Stitch, Atlantis etc as an adult, but considering that they were released when I was an adult (13 or over in this case, as that is a sort of maturing point physically), I can't count them, so am I the one who saw everything?

Well, I saw Sleeping Beauty in its entirety for the first time just a few months ago. Before that, I had only seen bits and pieces of it.

I, too, saw all the animated classics when I was a kid... Can you believe I have a friend who hasn't seen... "The Lion King"....?

I think that the movies that most definitely [almost] everyone's seen are "The Little Mermaid", "Beauty and the Beast", "Aladdin" and "The Lion King".

I also saw all of Disney's features as a kid. It amazes me that a friend of mine who's a (casual, apparantly) Disney fan hasn't seen half of the features. I'm not just talking about the somewhat obscure anthologies, but I mean films like Alice in Wonderland and Sleeping Beauty as well as more modern ones like Pocahontas and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Heck, she just saw Aladdin for the first time just a few weeks ago. I fully intend on getting her caught up, though.

Suprisingly, even at the ripe age of 9, while I was very much into Disney stuff, and I collected the Burger King toys and listened to the soundtracks, I never saw Hunchback or Hercules. I only saw them in their entirety as of last year. It was the first time I watched a movie that brought back memories, when I'd never seen it before.

The Rescuers
The Fox and the Hound
The Black Cauldron
Basil, The Great Mouse Detective

Hercules
Mulan
Tarzan

When I first got back into Disney TENG was the first film to be released, so from that point forward I have been seeing the films as we go along. All of the above films I got to see for the first time when they were released on DVD.

I have still never seen Cinderella or The Little Mermaid.

I remember seeing almost all of them all as a child (age 0-15) excluding the pacage fillms.

When you reach my age, it is hard to remember not going to the theater to see a Disney film the day it was released. The only ones that I didn't see on the original date of release were "Fantasia", "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" and "Bambi".

My fondest memory of going to see a Disney film on the first weekend that it was released was when, as a family, we went to see "Melody Time" and got to meet Roy Rogers and Trigger in person. It was mind-blowing to see the story-teller of "Pecos Bill" in person and what a beautiful horse Trigger was. I got autographs, naturally, and to this day they are mounted as part of my "Melody Time" poster and lobby card set. My pride and joy.

Lilo and Stitch, barely saw that last year.

The only Disney animated classics I never saw until I was 18+, besides the ones that came out as an adult, are A Bug's Life and Tarzan. I eventually saw 'A Bug's Life but I still have yet to see 'Tarzan'.

I saw all the animated classics as a child (that were out at the time) many times (though the package films I only saw once or twice) and have seen them all at least within a year of their debut to date.

As a mature kid I've seen the following:
Sleeping Beauty
The Emperor's New Groove
Oliver and Company
Peter Pan

There are some I haven't seen AT ALL yet!

Until I turned 18 in 1992 I had in fact seen very few of them.

Do you think it's by choice that I haven't seen them? I don't think either of them has ever been show on terrestrial television, and the VHS's were released a long time ago. Even though I could get a copy from ebay I may as well now wait for the DVDs and see them in the best possible quality I can!
