In <b>FINDING NEVERLAND</b>, Johnny Depp stars as J.M. Barrie, a respected playwrite who finds both his
career and his marriage crumbling around him. After writing a complete flop, Barrie struggles with his
producer (Dustin Hoffman) to create a hit. Upon meeting the beautiful widow Sylvia Llewelyn Davies
(Kate Winslet) and her four boys, Barrie discovers inspiration and a happiness he has not previously
known. Barrie bonds with the family, especially young Peter (Freddie Highmore, “The Mists of Avalon”),
and through their adventures together he forms the magical stories that would become his world-famous
play ‘Peter Pan.’ Barrie’s friendship with the Davies family, however, is endangered by Sylvia’s jealous

As a look in Jack's Movie Awards thread will show you, <i>Finding Neverland</i> was certainly one of my favorite movies of 2004. Hopefully those bonus features will have substance to them. Something which explores the real Barrie would be interesting, as the film didn't make the wholehearted effort to depict him realistically. Of course it worked better for the film, since J.M. Barrie was a much uglier man and like all of those kids would take their lives or die prematurely. One needn't worry with sticking to the facts when there's a greater truth conveyed in the picture, and so <i>Finding Neverland</i> gets plenty of leeway from me.

I can't wait to see this film again, as it was my #1 favorite movie of 2004. Fantastic performances and a very touching story made for one of the most memorable movies of the past year. Like Luke, the inaccuracy didn't bother me, as the film proved to be excellent. (The low, low box-office gross of this film is heartbreaking - I hope it finds a bigger audience on DVD.)

I kind of doubt the bonus features will amount to much. Miramax tends to skimp on them - even if there's more than one, they are usually quite shallow and promotional. I'm hoping I'm wrong though.

I never seen it at the cinema, i seen a few clips but it looked very boring!

Not boring at all, *Andy*. Might want to see the whole thing. Not that they're often right, but the Academy did give it a Best Picture nomination.

The generic big head look really isn't doing it for me, even if the bottom picture works semi-alright. The full screen cover currently lists "Best Family Film of the Year" (The Critics' Choice Awards) where this WS one lists NBR Best Picture. Hopefully it's a work-in-progress.

I'm not one to usually dwell on cover art, but the original one which resembled the poster art looked much nicer.

Well i still stick with boring after seeing that cover art!
Perhaps someone i know will have a copy of it and i'll see what its like!

It isn't boring by any means, although I did feel as though I had been emotionally manipulated by the end of the film.

I found the movie boring at some times, but it still became one of my favorite movies of the year.

I think it looks good but that DVD cover is blech. The R2 cover is better but I prefer the movie poster.

No way you can judge a movie on the cover or just a few clips!

Man, that cover art is really stinky. I loved the theatrical poster, because it sums up the movie quite well - having all these images lined up next to Johnny's eye shows that the movie centers around his imagination.

This was my favourite movie of the year. I can't say anything that hasn't been said already. All I can add is that it is in my opinion defintiely worth a Best Picture award.

I really wanted to watch this film while it was in theatres but no one wanted to go watch it with me!

So I guess I have to view the DVD in the comforts of my own home when it's released. Can't wait as I've only heard good things about ithis film.

YAY!!! I have wanted to see this ever since I heard about it!!!! But I never got a chance to swing by a movie theater, now hopefully i can b/c it's coming to dvd!!!

I liked this movie a lot, I'll probaly pick this up a little later after its released. (like when it's previewed at Blockbuster )

I really want to see this movie. I never got the chance to when it was in theaters, because no one wanted to go with me and it was never playing at a convenient time. It looks like such a good movie.

Finding Neverland is a fantastic work of art. Everyone was absolutely amazing in it.

You can count on me being one of the first in line to purchase this movie.
