Premiered at the 1964 World's Fair in New York City.

It may have a nervous break down inducing title song, but I kinda like It's a Small World. With it's charming dolls and peaceful moral, it's a nice little ride that is relaxing after various white knuckle ones and best of all will keep screaming kids quiet for a few minutes. Plus, it has great Mary Blair designs, so how can you go wrong?

True, I am fond of Mary Blair's work, and that is the thing which gives the ride its charm. The song isn't too bad, but heavy doses can be maddening. If the Sherman Brothers were going for "catchy", then they definitely succeeded!

Definately a good ride, but one of my less favorite attractions. Unlike practically every other ride in Disneyland, it feels like it actually goes on too long. The music and visuals are great, but 15 minutes with little variation feels a tad spread out. But it's still something that I like to ride every time I go (as long as the line isn't too long, which it usually is).

See, I still like this ride a lot. I gues it is my lest favorite in Fantasyland, but I still enjoy it. I would never wait in a long line, but it really lifts your spirits. Those kids are so cute! My favorite lands are Hawaii and Australia.

I love this ride. It's right up there with Pirates of the Caribbean in its ability to induce some nice walks down memory lane. I can see how the constantly repeated "It's a small world..." can cause temporary insanity, though.

Plus, I love all the different countries that are represented in the ride, they're quite fun to look at and try and identify (as are the languages).

Disneyworld just wouldnt be the same without it tho. eh?
Im looking forward too seeing the changes when they have finished re-furbishing.....im hoping the entrance is more like Paris and Califnornia as the entrances look so good..........

2004 marked a first for our family. It was the first time we went to a Disney theme park...and did not go on It's A Small World. They were renovating it, dammit!

But anyways, I always enjoy going on Small World, probably because the song doesn't annoy me. I remember reading in Mouse Tales, that during a Grad Nite, this group of teenagers wouldn't get out of the boat, they kept saying, "we want to go again!", so they let them go again...and again, and again...until they finally yelled "let us off!!!"

It's a small world is a great ride at Disneyland. I love to go to Fantasyland and go on all of those little kids rides that aren't too rough to go on. It's a small world has great music from beginning of the ride to the end of the ride. At Disneyland this ride is always crowded when I go to visit. When I normally go to Disneyland I ride "It's a small world" at least 2 times before leaving the park. I know that many people consider it's a small word as a little kids ride but I think even adults can ride on it.
I always enjoyed this ride as a child and still do today. It’s a small world is one of the best rides at Fantasyland in my opinion.

In comparing the two American versions of It's a Small World, it's worth noting that only the Disneyland version features the clock tower outside. When I went to Disney World, I was so disappointed by the outer facade, just a sign and little more. I missed the clock tower, it's kind of fun to watch the clock go through its paces at the top of the hour and how almost everyone (myself included) who is nearby stops to watch, reminds me of the tourists who stop to watch Big Ben in London when it hits the top of the hour.

i love its a small world. the first time i went to disneyworld i didn't go on it because people said it was annoying but then i went to disneyland paris i wnt on it and loved it, it was quite relaxing. i went to disneyworld this year and it was closed!

It's a Small World is one of my favorite rides. It was closed when I went in August/September and it will be closed when I go at the end of this month. My husband is happy about the closure because the song drives him crazy. I can't wait till they re-open it. I will have to ride it about five times.

What I love about It's A Small World at WDW is... hard to explain. I really like its small entrance. It is really small, it can't compete with DL. But I like how you walk in and it opens up to be really big. And its cool (as in temperature), which is great in Florida. It is really like you are taking a cruise around the world.

Yeah, IASW's entrance at WDW is pretty small compared to the big spectacle they've got at DL.

I remember once, I think it was 1999, they had the usual two lines for you to go into, and for some stupid reason, everyone was in the left line, and the right was practically empty. This was pre-fast pass, and there isn't even FP for Small World anyway. So anyway, we go into the right line, cause naturally it's shorter, and we want to get on the ride.

And this angry lady then yells out, "EXCUSE ME! THAT'S CALLED CUTTING!", to which we say, "It's another line!", so she just goes, "Oh", and ducks under the divider to get from the left line to the right line.

And obviously, five minutes later, the right line is suddenly longer than the left line.

Escapay

When I was little I had an It's A Small World book and tape set that I listened to/read over and over again. I lost my voice my first day ever at Disney World when I was 5, and I think it was caused in part by my yelling excitedly and pointing out everything I recognized from the book. Another Disney World memory of the ride is sitting by the window in the Pinocchio Haus restaurant that looks out on the people entering the ride and waving at them. Usually the majority of the people per boat would wave back. How exciting!

Although it's not one of my favourites, it's DISNEY all over and I go on it every trip. I really like the DL Holiday version - the change in the song helps keep you sane

Don't know if any of you mentioned this, but there's a Mexican boy choking a chicken.

I love boat rides, so I am already predisposed to like this ride. However, what really makes it shine are the different costumes and dances. Like most of the Disney rides, there is always something going on in the background that you may have missed the first 18 times you've been on it. I spot something new almost every time I ride it.

Another plus is that the line is always moving, even if there are a lot of people in line. The loading process is so efficient that it seems like a short wait any time of the day.

Despite the number of times that I've been to WDW, I've only ridden IASW once (thanks to long lines and closures), in the summer of 2003. I really liked it and can't wait to see it restored. I love the song, both inside the ride and when I'm at home, it doesn't at all get old to me (but few songs do) and I could probably ride it multiple times. Being older and riding it for the first time, I was a bit captivated by experiencing such an important piece of Disney history for the first time. I would love to see DL's grand-looking version as well as the IASW holiday.

i was very excited to go on this ride cause i'd heard about for so many years and finally i was on it... (aprilish) anyway... all fin and nice and cute but then.... we broke down. in france. ARGHHHHHH!!!
