Inserts Thread

Has this been done before? I didn't find it in the search. I thought we could keep a running tally of which inserts come with which Disney DVDs, instead of having to ask all the time.

My question is- did an insert come with Newsies? I just bought it today and there wasn't one.

I'll make my first contribution to the thread:

Bedknobs & Broomsticks 30th Anniversary Edition DVD: Fall 2001 Disney A-Z DVD catalogue, scene index insert

Well, considering most Disney DVD's have inserts, I think it'd be better to culminate a list of which Disney DVD's don't have them.

Which don't? I think all of mine have come with something. I think I've only boughten two DVDs without an insert and they weren't Disney. Today I bought the special edition of Iron Giant and it dien't have an insert! Some special edition that is. Sure the movie is what's most important but for packaging it loses points.

Yeah, some companies don't bother with inserts anymore (*cough*Paramount, the cheap bastards*cough*). I think MGM doesn't do inserts either, unless it's a special edition of a movie.

To add to the "Disney DVDs without an insert" list:

The Rescuers
Gangs of New York (that's Miramax, isn't it? I remember peeps being pissed because it had no insert)

Yeah, I think there actually is a thread of no-inserts-included somewhere. What I had in mind was actually listing which inserts came with each, but perhaps that is a bit too industrious.

Thanks for saying that Gangs didn't have one, either, Escapay. I just got that one too and was wondering. Anyone know about Newsies?

Hey, I've been meaning to answer this but forgot. I checked and yes, my Newsies DVD has a scene index insert. It also came with something else, I think a catalogue of other titles, or a limited time offer or something. I can look again and give you more info if needed.

Sorry to be bumping this up, but I was looking for a thread about Newsies and coincidentally if it had an insert, and this came up.

Anyways, even though I bought the Newsies DVD months ago, I only noticed after I opened it and actually watched the movie that there was no insert. So I'm just bringing this back to ask a question that someone in the know might be able to answer:

When Buena Vista temporarily did their "No Chapter Inserts" rule in 2002, did they start repackaging older DVDs without the inserts, and once the rule was gone, started packing their 2002 DVDs with inserts? Because half-and-half here are saying several of their DVDs do and don't have inserts, and crazy it may be, I really want an insert for my Newsies DVD.
