This thread feels like déjà vu to me, for some strange reason... ;)

Anyhoo, I'll probably make a list of what I got soon enough; I bet it won't be anything more exciting than clothes and gift cards, though...

Well we had our presents on Christmas Eve. I will just do the DVDs

Hidalgo and all four treasures. Hey, wait a minute...there were only three treasures. Did I get the ultra rare fourth treasure? Nope. My mom got confused and I got another copy of Mickey Mouse In Living Colour 2. Oh well, I will trade it in and I can go watch Mickey and Pluto with my daughter.

So lemme see... what I've received so far -

~$50 cash from my grandma :D

~$15 gift card to Barnes & Noble

~Disney Trivial Pursuit board game, which I'm going to exchange for Disney Scene It, or some other game that catches my fancy, since I've heard that the Disney TP is ridiculously easy...

~The first three Series of Unfortunate Events books

~A book of the Brothers Grimm's Faerie Tales (the original folk tales! w00t!)

~A new set of footsy pajamas! ;) Hey, blame my mom. She got them.

~Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban DVD, thanks to my Secret Santa! :santa:

~Gargoyles: The Complete First Season DVD

~A Buckbeak fitted tee. *lurves*

~An "accessory" pillow and a chenille throw to add to my bed

So that's... it, I think. I did "buy myself" a few gifts - the Complete Pluto WDT, Elf, and more My Little Pony toys and paraphernalia than I care to admit. ;) I might receive a couple more presents in the days to come, but that's the majority of the "haul". :)

The best gift I received this year was a drawing of Goofy framed from one of my good friends. She drew it herself and it is incredible. I got the three treasures and my "Mickey Mouse Club" one had a minor problem. The stickey stuff used to hold the card onto the tin had burned. It was almost orange and smelled terrible. I had a heck of a time getting it off. I got a Bowes stereo for my room and a 3 disc Queen CD to listen to in it. I got The Simpsons season 5 and the Return of the Kind Extended Edition Box Set. It was a very nice Christmas.

For DVDs, it was a sparse year. Ju-On and that's about it, I think (unless you count the numerous presents I gave to myself ;)).

I also got your average stuff like clothes, plushies, money, and cute little accessories for the home (this cute candle-holder of an elf taking a nap in the forest that I adore). Come to think of it, my mother gave us a not-so-average showerhead. I s'ppose that counts as an accessory for the home.

My family has received enough soap to last us all several lifetimes over, however.

I got I got I got....

From my immediate family I largely got edible things (chocolates were a big theme) and a case of assorted beer from my mother (bless her cotton socks). I got her the Tintin 75th Anniversary DVD Box, which I got some "subtle" hints for. I also gave my grandparents some books, films and other things that suited their respective interests (horseracing for my grandfather, for example). It was all very casual in the immediate family, because we all had birthdays in the last two weeks!

My girlfriend really spoiled me with:
- Johnny Cash - Unearthed (5 CD set)
- Star Trek: DS9 Season 2 (DVD)
- The Smurfs: Volume 1 (DVD)
Mind you I spoiled her right back with the Complete Sex & the City DVD (Shoe)Box and the White Stripes Live DVD.

My girlfriends parents gave me a "Movie Pack" from the cine-plex, consisting of an Ocean's 11 DVD and vouchers for the year at the cinema, which is really cool. I got them the Sum of All Fears DVD and some edible stuff, because my girlfriend tells me they were only missing one Jack Ryan DVD :)

Also "Elephant Walk" (with Elizabeth Taylor on VHS), a bunch of clothes and some Broadway cast albums ('cause I'm a huge theatre nut too).

This year the only DVD's we got were Princess Diaries 2 (more of a pre-Christmas thing to keep us busy during the holidays), and my sister got Home on the Range (pretty much lived up to my expectations, which were low).

I got mostly books and CD's:

Books

Villette -Charlotte Bronte

Mirror, Mirror -Gregory Maguire

Drivers' Ed. -Caroline B. Cooney

I Am Not Esther
-Fleur Beale

Hanging on to Max -Margaret Bechard

The Preservationist -David Maine

CDs

The Last Five Years (had only a burned copy from my friend before)

Aida Original Cast Recording (had never heard before-amazing!)

The Music Man Soundtrack (the TV version with the amazing Kristin Chenoweth)

The Phantom of the Opera SE Motion Picture Soundtrack (can't even describe the greatness)

My family also got a new CD player, the Mamma Mia! SE soundtrack, Neil Diamonds Christmas CD (yuck!), and a Red Skeleton DVD box set.

We also got numerous gift cards and cash-within-cards, so we'll be shopping this week.[/i]
