Okay, this christmas I've got alot of Disney DVD's on the way and I cant wait because of my lifelong obsession with anything Disney...
A couple of the dvd's I've got are:
Home On The Range
The Fox And The Hound and
[/i]The Emperors New Groove
I've been getting alot of mixed responses about how good these films are so if anyone would review any for me I'd be really greatfull... I've heard that Home On The Range is quite bad for Disney but I would really like to know your opionions. Thanks...

I find all three of those titles to be quite entertaining. Objectively, I would say none of them reach the high standard everyone, including myself, holds Disney animation to, but they are enjoyable regardless.

As for my personal opinion, I find Emperor's New Groove to be absolutely brilliant and by far the funniest Disney movie. That one well deserves a viewing (multiple ones, in fact). Home on the Range is nice and has some great music. It's not one of the better Disney movies, but it's good enough to merit a viewing. Fox and the Hound is one of my least favorite Disney films, though. The first half is pretty decent and cute, but the second half is dull and rather messy. As a Disney fan, though, you should definitely try to watch all of them, just for the sake of saying that you have. If you're as big a Disney fan as you say, then I recommend buying all of them for your collection regardless of whether or not you care for them.

I enjoy them all especially the Fox and the Hound. I grew up with that one and I had the whole deal with books, bedsheets, pictures on my wall, you name it!

Most people around here seem to think I'm mad! But I absolutely love Home on the Range!

THE EMPEROR'S NEW GROOVE-
I haven't seen this movie in nearly four years, so I can't 100% recommend it as I can't fully recommend it. From what I remember, it was a fun film and better than Atlantis and some of the other films made by Disney in 2000 and 2001, although not as good as Monsters Inc. If you get any DVD of that movie, make sure it's the 2 Disc Collector's Edition, as it contains huge amounts of bonus material, whilst the 1 Disc Edition is a bit vanillary.

THE FOX AND THE HOUND-
As you're a Disney pursuit, go for it, but don't splash twenty quid for it. I'd rent it or get it reduced. It has some nice points, but it's one of the lesser Disney titles. The animation is okay bit a bit cartoony and crackly. The plot has numerous holes in it and the characters are underdeveloped. It can drag too. I think it lacks Walt's sense of film making which most people feel wasn't in Disney's seventies and early eighties efforts; if Walt made this film, it may have worked and become a classic like Bambi or Pinocchio. Sadly, it didn't. But at least the UK DVD release is better than the US one in terms of extras (or so I read).

HOME ON THE RANGE-
I've gotta see this too. Don't get Ichabod started on it; he's unhealthily obsessed.

Of the three I've only seen Emperor.

Don't expect a classic on the level of Beauty and the Beast. Expect a very good comedy with heart. The movie has a great style and a great villain duo. I find it very rewatchable and hilarious.

The Emperors New Groove is easily the film which I feel is the best of the ones you've listed. I am in total agreement with Disneykid in that the film is brilliant and very, very funny. I will say that of all the Disney DVDs that I own, this DVD is the one I most frequently watch.

Fox and the Hound is probably one of my least favorite Disney films. While I rank it low on my list, I do not dislike it. It simply does very little for me.

Home on the Range was a cute film but I haven't bothered to pick it up on DVD yet. This film was not one that made me want to rush out and buy it on DVD.

I like all three Disney titles but Fox and the Hound and The Emperor's New Groove are way better then Home on the Range in my opinion.

I don't remember Fox and the Hound too much, I have it on VHS but haven't watched it in over 10 years.

Empreor's New Groove is one of the funnier Disney movies and is definitely worth buying. The 2 disc edition is supposed to be nice, but I just bought the single disc one since it's not a movie I really care about as far as the making of it goes.

Home on the Range is my least favorite Disney animated movie and its just a bad movie in general. I definitely feel I wasted my money buying it. I didnt see it in theaters and figured it couldn't be that bad, and unfortunately it was. Rosanne Barr's voice is enough to make you nauseated. The songs in it are forgettable, the characters are boring, and the story is just recycled garbage. If there's one reason to see it, its to see the absurd yodeling scene.

I've said this here before, but IMO, "The Emperor's New Groove" is the funniest non-Pixar animated comedy Disney has ever produced. And even though I've been a fan of Sting for decades, after seeing how the film actually turned out, I'm so glad they decided to not make it a musical. It's got great characters, a perfect cast, and so many other things going for it comedy-wise. In short: I love it.

The Fox & The Hound is very cute, but it's a little slow. It probably wouldn't make in my top 20 favorite animated Disney films, but there are fans who really love it and I can't say anything against that -- it just doesn't happen to be one of my favorites.

However, I wouldn't recommend buying it on DVD -- if you're patient, perhaps they'll release a "Masterpiece Edition" for it sometime in the future. It's in full screen/formatted for TV, and there's nothing in the way of actual "bonus material" that most fans would be interested to see.

I still haven't seen "Home On The Range". Maybe if The Far Side's Gary Larson had been involved in the production (he created some of the best cow comedy ever), and I didn't have such a huge disdain for Rosanne, it might've given me more motivation to see it. I'll undoubtedly rent it at some point in the future, but it's not high on my priorities right now.

I got alot of disney DVD's for christmas and now I have watched all of the three I listed above...
Emperors new groove: I think this is great and funny and I just laughed all the way through!
Fox and the hound: My older brother who's 33 liked this more than me but even still I though it was cute, it could have been remastered but ya know..
Home On The Range: I don't see why people are naming this a bad moo-vie its really good I loved it the most out of the three! I think its just great, its characters are well balanced and the music fits in well along with the occasional jokes which are over the top but still made me laugh! I just think that Home On The Range is great!

I love Home on the Range, too. The musical numbers are great.
