Bah Humbug! Anybody here NOT looking forward to Yuletide?

Just wondering. I am generally enthusiastic about Christmas, even though I'm not getting sleepless nights due to excitement about it, but I'm sure others will not be excited. Who here doesn't want to experience Yuletide?

Not me. To quote Eloise, "I absolutely love Christmas!" :santa:

I am very excited about Christmas.

I'm not excited, however, about the huge dent it'll make in my wallet from Christmas present-buying, though. :/

Got to love Christmas!

Snow, Snow, Snow.

Christams tree, lights, hot fire. LOVE IT!

The only thing I don't like are the lines at Wal Mart and road rage for a parking spot!

There's no snow for us that live in South Florida, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, etc.

I love Christmas. I love the season more than any presents and stuff like that.

Traditionally, I used to hate Christmas, but the last few years I've been getting into the spirit.

I do love all the movies, the TV specials, the trimmings, the foods, the gift-giving...

...I guess the over-commercialization of it is what bothers me. The fact that I can't go anywhere without being confronted by someone trying to sell me a giant dancing Santa.

Christmas

Um. Lets see I love Christmas a lot. I love the Snow Snow Snow, Buying Presents for the Family and Friends, Having Fun Family Time, Christmas Traditions, Watching Holiday Movies With The Family. But There Is One Thing I Hate. My Little 12 year old Niece, always thinks it is funny to try and kiss me underneath the mistletoe. It is so annoying.

I love Christmas - Jesus's Birthday - a gathering of family and friends and two weeks vacation from work - Bring it on. :D

I like Christmas.

I'm looking forward to the day I tell my nephew and niece (who are 5 and 2 years old respectively), "When I was your age, we didn't put up the holiday decoration until it was actually December. Or at least until Thanksgiving passed..."

Word, living in south Georgia, I have always wanted a white Christmas. As a kid, I thought something was wrong with our Christmases since there was always tons of snow on TV.

Anyway, I am just this weekend starting to really get into the spirit. I despise Christmas stuff before Thanksgiving. It doesn't start until the next day.

At times the commercialization bothers me, but I am a huge Christmas geek who loves Christmas CDs, all the specials and movies, planning gifts, parties, etc. However, I am able to separate that or see it as in addition to the worship and celebration of Christ's birth that the holiday is really about. I guess what bothers me is so many people who make that the sole focus of the holiday.

Anyway, I guess since we had an earlier Thanksgiving this year, it's taking me a little longer to get excited. I'm also really busy with projects and finals right now, but as soon as they end, I think I'll be ready to celebrate. And ABC Family's specials are helping. Watched my TiVo'ed copy of Year Without A Santa Claus from last night this afternoon and now have the Snow and Heat Misers' songs running through my head.

I love Christmas also. I love December in general at home in Ireland. The lights, the weather (nice and frosty), the atmosphere, the window displays, the shopping. I love it all.

The only thing I don't like about Christmas is that I've spent all bar one here in the Middle East in the last 6yrs and there ain't no Christmas spirit. Hell I have to work on Christmas Day for crying out loud!

This year me and my hubby are retreating to a 5* hotel for a weekend of food, drink and merriment! I can't wait!

I'm not looking forward to a cramped, probably standing all the way, 5 1/2 hour (which will probably be 6 1/2 hour) commute in a Virgin Train to vist our parents for Christmas.

However, I am looking forward to the 2 weeks holiday we'll be enjoying when we get there, flirting from house to house whenever the fancy strikes us! :D

One thing I don't like is the amount of traffic before and after Christmas and y birthday. The stores are crowded on my birthday. lol!

Yes

I also can't stand all of the Holiday Traffic, and the noisy stores. That is why I do my Christmas SHopping early, before the rush. And so I won't loose an arm or anything with the rush for the last Tickle Me Elmo Doll. Just Kidding :) But I just dislike the bad traffic, and the crowded stores. Why don't people just order online, so the stores arn't so loaded.

Word Disney Guru. I love planning the perfect gift for family and friends, but I'm not a big shooper anyway especially when it's crowded so I like to shop online. I did all of my shopping in an hour this morning in my pajamas while drinking my coffee. You can't beat that in my opinion.

However, I do like the decorations in most department stores this time of year, so I will often make one mall trip-early in the morning before the crowds-just to pick up a book or something and to see the decorations.

I got Final Fantasy, Dawn of Souls last Thursday at Circuit City. The stores aren't crowded now. My parents need to go shopping for rush hour or 3 PM.

I hear that the malls are crowded on the Friday after Thanksgiving. Yikes! The malls are also crowded the days after Christmas.

Some of the electronic toys are expensive. My parents can't afford to buy me a PlayStation 2, Nintendo DS and a new radio at the same time. They might give me money to buy a ticket to see The Lion King in Baltimore though. :)

I think the new electronic gadets and toys are hot and expensive items this holiday season. Brand name clothes can be expensive too.

I do like being with friends and family during the holiday season. I need to call my old friends to see what they're doing.

You have less than three weeks to buy gifts.
