I'm a little foggy about your question, are you asking if you should buy that, or another animated classic. Because, if that's your question, then by all means, buy another classic, because, I really didn't like this "movie" it didn't really have a great story.

i bought the first edition of this dvd last night and while reading some forums here they said it's better to wait for the 2 disc version. i've seen the movie anyway. probably i'll just return it. what do you think?

So you're asking about the original Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996) and not its direct-to-video sequel?

I'm a bit confused as to what's being asked here... but I suggest you go for a DVD of another Disney classic. (In no way and/or means do I consider The Hunchback of Notre Dame II to be a "classic.")

Do not buy Hunchback 2, it's not worth it! The whole movie is like a long Hunchback of the Notre Dame tv show (which doesn't exist) episode that never aired (Animationwise and storywise).

I thought The Hunchback of Notre Dame 2 was a great rare sequel that was better or equal to the original film. But not everyone thinks that it's a great sequel.

I was thinking "rare" too. I guess the only way to enjoy a sequel like that is to not think so much about how disloyal it is to movie 1 and take an interest in the ideas they thought of for movie 2

I am a huge supporter of sequels, but I can't stand sequels that have a story that could be just episodes of the original movie tied together (I'm thinking about Tarzan & Jane too). HOTND doesn't have a series but the sequel sure looked like a long episode of one (if it ever would excist).

I didn't mean it like that, I meant buy another classic as in adding to the classics eap_44 already has.
