With successful weekend performances by both The Incredibles and their new opening National Treasure, Buena Vista (Disney & Touchstone) has now become the 3rd most-grossing studio at the 2004 box office with a current total of $955 million. Buena Vista has pulled within $6 million of 2nd place Warner, while Sony still has a comfortable grasp of the #1 ranking over all studios. Warner still has Alexander and Ocean's Twelve coming out, while Disney's remaining release (the Touchstone film The Life Aquatic) probably won't put up outrageous numbers.
Last year, behind blockbusters Finding Nemo and Pirates of the Caribbean, Buena Vista handily became the top studio at the box office, with a total gross of $1.5 billion.

Mr. Incredible shot the lame fishing guy off the moon! U Huh U Huh U Huh!
In all fairness though, DreamWorks actually did have more good movies this year than Disney - Anchorman, Collateral, and The Terminal. Their animation is underwhelming, but they do make good flicks otherwise.

I actually liked
Shrek 2 as well. I don't feel the need to hate it because it isn't Disney. I think we must hav a forum full of NME critics here - NME (UK music press) seems only ever able to praise a newe record by slagging an older record (e.g. Franz Ferdinand will save your live - way better than The Strokes even though we said they would save your life 6 months ago).
I digress...
Shrek 2 deserves its success. Yes, it is full of pop culture references, and does have some fun jokes at Disney's expense, but in the end it is a simple love story with a sense of humour, and I dug it (
Shark Tale on the other hand...*shudder*)
I also think it is unfair to label
Anchorman as overrated. It is a glass case of emotion!
Anyways, it is good to see Disney doing well, and I look forward to finally seeing
The Incredibles at the end of the year.

Cool, lets hope though that Eisner won't consider staying because of it.
I thought Shrek 2 was good, but not $400+ million good. The Incredibles on the other hand.....

Wouldn't that be something.....
they would have to recall all the Shrek 2 dvds and remove the god-awful yellow banner "#1 comedy of all time"
It would be a day to remember

Uh, Ciaobelli, that banner never made the cover. And even if it did, TI isn't a comedy.

Really? shows up on amazon, so I bilieved them. TI could be an action-comedy, anything is good to dethrone Shrek
