Disney And HKSAR Government Announce Hong Kong Disneyland Opening Day
http://www.mickeynews.com/News/DisplayP ... 24Hongkong

The great news is that the entrance fee is cheaper than any Disneyland in the world and there's a Festival of The Lion King. If I'm lucky I'll pay a visit to Hong Kong Disneyland a few days after it opens and tell you guys how it is!

I'll be making a trip with my family to Hong Kong when HK Disneyland opens! My mom and dad were born in Hong Kong while I was born in Canada so we have family over there :)

I'm pretty sure Mom will want to drag me (or my sister) first chance she gets.

And this is a bad thing? I wish my mom would have 'dragged' me to a Disney park!

For some reason I had it stuck in my head that it wasn't opening until 2007! Thanks for the info, I wonder if we can fit it into our travelling plans for when we go to DL and WDW next time :)

One of the shops I work for (F&D) has a few Disney floats ready to ship over there, they look super nice. :)

Opening Day has been pushed up to September 12! Yay!

Sorry to bump up an old thread, but I used the Search and found this Hong Kong Disneyland Thread to announce the somewhat old news. Anyone in/near/going to be at Hong Kong for the opening?

Well I haven't been to a Disney park outside of the U.S. so I won't be going here. However my uncle(he's an imagineer) has designed most of this park. He said it's really going well. However if I was going to a Disney park outside the U.S. Tokyo Disney Sea would be my chocie, that place sound awesome! The only thing makes me confused is where are they going to put Hong Kong Disneyland? For years China has had troubles with population, now they want to build a theme park there?

Hasn't really been pushed up, Kram. Everywhere in the world except here they do their dates as day/month/year, while here we do month/day/year. So 12/9/05 is the same as 9/12/05.

Disney built it on water on Penny's Bay or Harbor or something. They created an island on which to build upon. It was Phase 1 of the whole project. Tokyo Disneyland was built the same way. At least I think it was.

That's awesome that your related to an imagineer!! Are you allowed to know anything about future projects? Are you allowed to give input or ideas? If so direct him to our What Attraction Would You Like thread!

Dran America. :P Why can't we use the metrics system and all that other stuff. Or why can't the rest of the world get with the program and be like us, lol. jk. I'd rather use metrics since it is easier. I won't sasy anymore since we already had an off topic on this subject within a different thread.
