Even though my number one movie was released not too long ago, i missed the chance to see it and I hope in the furture it is re-released again.
1- Lion King
2- Aladdin
3- Fantasia
4- Little Mermaid
5- Pinocchio

Does anyone else wamt their fav. movies to be re-released, if you do which one?

I think Aladdin deserved a re-release before its DVD debut more than any other Disney film. Though it was tremendously popular in '92, I think the public collectively forgot about it over the past decade, with it being OOP for so long and scarce merchandise. In my mind, it could've done as well, if not better, than Beauty and the Beast's IMAX release. In fact, if it had been release to regular theaters too, I could see $50 million.

As for re-releases I'd personally really like, I'd pick any one of my favorite movies, such as Pinocchio or The Little Mermaid. I would love a chance to see them in the theaters again, especially with an audience of people who would be into it.

I was thinking since the whole IMAX idea flopped for Disney. It would be really cool if all there PE were in theaters before they were released on DVD. I think it would also help increase DVD sales for that Generation that didnt grow up on them like most of us here. So all the movies in PE collection, but now that theres two maybe just the one in the fall since it seems the bigger ones are being left for that seasons. So this year it would be Cinderella. Okay so I am done rambaling .

Mary Poppins. I would love to see that on the Big Screen.

The only Disney movie I would pay to see in theaters (or on a giant IMAX screen) would be The Little Mermaid, because I love it too much to not pass up another theater re-release (I missed out on the 1987 and 1997 release). Runners-up would be Aladdin, Finding Nemo, and Lilo & Stitch. I don't love films I saw in theaters originally, such as The Lion King and Mulan, enough to warrant seeing them again.

Just about any of the Disney movies listed above would have generated more revenue for Disney than the Teacher's Pet theatrical release this year.

Aladdin would have been an excellent choice before it was released on DVD. Anyone under 12 years old never had a chance to see it the first time aound.

Likewise The Little Mermaid would be a excellen choice now.

In addition to re-releasing these movies, I really wish that Disney had put more effort into the recent direct to video Three Musketeers movie and released it to theaters this summer. Considering the fact that there was virtually nothing this summer for young children, I think it could have done really well.

And not so much IMAX re-releases as regular theatrical re-releases. They're far more accessible.

Is Disney planning on re-releasing any of its classics in the near future?

I wouldnt mind seeing Sleeping Beauty, Lady and the Tramp, 20,000 leagues under the sea again in a theater!

I've seen Sleeping Beauty in the theater, but it was a long time ago, I was only 7 or 8 years old. But I remember it then being very beautiful. I would love to see it again, now that I'm older and have a greater appreciation for the artwork in it.

Welcome, bluemoon86. Sadly, I don't think that Disney is planning to reissue their films into cinemas. It's a shame, as they would look beautiful up all big. They were planning to reissue The Little Mermaid and a few others on IMAX, but alas, it never happened
