I've been trying to add links to my sig, but it keeps telling me that the signature length is too long.
What am I doing wrong..?

Here's what i'm tying to post:
[url=
http://www.dvdprofiler.com/mc.asp?alias=Rogue588&type=O]owned • [url=
http://www.dvdprofiler.com/mc.asp?alias=Rogue588&type=W]desired • [url=
http://www.dvdprofiler.com/mc.asp?alias=Rogue588&type=P]being imported • [url=
http://guzzlefish.com/collection.php?username=rogue588]guzzle dis...partially
I counted and it does go over the 255 character limit, but I figured since the majority of the sig are URLs, it wouldn't matter...
Am I wrong?

Welcome to the Forum, rogue.
I would try the sig with just two of the URLs and see if that works. If it does, well, you should have your answer about the character issue.

If it is above the alloted 255 characters, as you said, than, it's not going to work. It does it by characters the database has to read, not what we see.. It's weird, I know, but oh well...
So, you do have to cut down...
also, the code is writting as so:

I just changed the limit to 300. I didn't count so I don't know if you'll fit, but if not, well, less to cut out.

I had to cut one thing...but it's working now.

Luke -- only 300? Oh come on? Just don't have HTML enabled.. then the boards start looking crappy, and the pages start lagging to load... Leave it at 300... more would be suicide...

Hey rogue (or anyone else for that matter)...how do you "name" your sig URLs rather than just have the URL appear??

Is the error that it's too long? There's a limit on siggy size.

Hi thanks for the help, but the error message says
"You have added too many images in your signature. You can only add 0 images in your signature. "

I get the same error. Can we not have images in our signatures now because of bandwidth? just wondering.

Yeah, I did away with that when I made the avatars change. But if you keep it with in reason, you can use a signature image like this:
Code: Select all
<img src="http://www.yourimage.com/image.jpg">
Replacing the part inside the "" with the URL of the picture.

How am I supposed to pimp Home on the range when the image in my signature has disappeared.
It looks as if it's not just me, but everyone who had an image.
Any idea what's happening Luke?

I hadn't noticed this. It's possible that the newer version of the forum software doesn't allow images in signatures. Have you tried adding it back?

Yep, I've tried adding it back but nothing happened, Everything was fine this morning, and I guess that was after the switch to the new forum!? It disappeared at some point during the day.
