Round 2.27 - Angels In The Outfield
Round 2.28 - Remember The Titans
Round 2.29 - The Santa Clause
Round 1 - Winner: Pollyanna

We've completed the first of three rounds in Live-Action Survivor! Now, we set out to pick the movie that will square off one-on-one against Pollyanna for the ultimate championship in Round 3.

Round 1 dealt with movies made prior to 1990 (I had to make the slight change from the site's grouping, which breaks at 1980, to slightly even out the two groupings). Round 2 will concern movies made from 1990 to the present day.

Live-action films have already been defined for us by Luke's pages for them here on the site. The complete list of films made between 1990 and today can be found at the bottom here (this list also includes movies made between 1980-1990).

At the end of the sub-round, I'll come on here and announce which films got voted off, and a new thread will start for the next sub-round. This gets to be a lot of fun, especially when it gets down to the wire!

You can talk about your reasons for your vote, but I ask that you put the full title of what you're voting for in bold letters so that it's easy for me to count them all in a hurry.

As always, I ask that you let me make the final announcement of each sub-round's winner, so as to avoid confusion/ambiguity. I occasionally come in a little late, but for the most part, I'm usually able to come in and make the announcement shortly after the round ends.

So, Survivors ready?? Come on in and vote for one of these movies, the FINAL TWO:

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
The Muppet Christmas Carol

Remember to vote for the movie you want to win this sub-round (instead of voting against the movie you want to lose as we have before). Also, please note that the winner of Round 2.30 is only the victor of Round 2, not of the entire game, and will advance to Round 3.

Voting ends at midnight (EASTERN TIME) on Monday, November 15th.

What's so good about Muppet Christmas Carol...and how can a frog and a pig fall in love?

Actually I don't think Muppet Christmas Carol is bad. It's a fun and heartwarming piece, and I've liked it since I was 3 years old. Its songs are very good too. And as for frogs and pigs falling in love... hey it's just a movie, pal, and it happens in all Muppet movies. 8)

I think Aaron's duplicious directions this round are having some folks  and voting for Pat Buchanan.

Those are Survivor's rules. And I am not sure people are confused after four games of this, but anyways

Muppet Christmas Carol

Really wanted Remember the Titans to win though. Fantastic flick.

Well I did accidentally leave in the old directions at the top (they are now taken out), but I think the red-lettered instructions at the bottom are pretty clear. It looks like everyone so far has indicated that they want the title they bolded to win. The only one I can't be sure of from the context is Jack, but he's been playing this a while, so is probably familiar with the way the game goes by now.

But at any rate, I vote for Ross Perot to win the game.

I hate to not vote for a Muppet victory, because I do love them so much, and A Muppet Christmas Carol is a great movie. I don't know if I'd say it's the 2nd best of the last decade-and-a-half, though. Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, however, does stand out as one of (though I'm not sure I'd come right out and say THE) Disney's best live-action forays. It was the obvious choice (for me at least) for winner from the game's beginning, and unlike the last round of this game, the obvious choice has at least made it to the final sub-round.

We simply vote off the one we like the least, correctamundo? I think Luke was referring to Pals & Ichabod. Ichy seems to be thinking POTC is the best of the 2 films, but he's voting it off. And Pals voted off POTC, and then said "What's so great about MCC?" Maybe he's too busy thinking about going to HHC to be paying attention to the rules.

Actually, I was referring to Ichabod and YOU! But Ichabod's fixed his vote, so it's just you. But hey, I'm all for the Muppets. Go Muppets!!!!! Vote for John Kerry!!!!! Go Lakers Go!!!!!!

Jack,

Let me try to clear up any confusion. In the final rounds of each Survivor game, you vote for the movie you want to win (the exact opposite of what you do in all the other rounds). If you've seen the TV show, you know that's how it works there too. I know that gets a little complicated in this large of a game, when you have sub-rounds within a round, but I've treated the final sub-rounds in the same manner.

So Ichabod is saying that Pirates is his favorite film, and is voting for it to win. MMP, in his opposition to inter-animal relationships, is also voting for Pirates to win. Make sense now?

I think the line that caused the confusion for me initially was:
So, Survivors ready?? Come on in and vote off ONLY ONE of these movie, the FINAL TWO:
It seems to suggest that you are voting for the one you like least, like in previous rounds!
