The sequel of a Disney Classic you fear the most!

Ofcourse we all know that all the disney classics will have a sequel at the end of this millenium

. But which one do you think will be the worst to come? Here I have the list of sequels until 22 july 2003
Rescuers down under (is a sequel but the only one who is also a classic)
Alladdin II return of Jafar
Alladdin III King of thieves
Beauty and the beast "the enchanted christmas
Beauty and the beast ""belle's magical world"
Pocahontas "Journey to a new world"
Lion King II
Lady and the tramp "scamp's adventure"
The Little mermaid II "return to the sea"
Cinderella II
Hunchback of the Notre Dame II
The Tigger movie (a sequel of the Whinnie the Pooh classic)
Tarzan & Jane (not realy a sequel, the real sequel Tarzan II will follow next year")
101 dalmatians II "Patch's london adventure"
Peter pan "return to neverland
Jungle Book 2
Atlantis Milo's Adventure
Coming up:
Stitch (a pilot for a tv series not the real sequel)
Mulan II
Lion King 1,5
Tarzan II
Dumbo II (this one is uncertain, preproduction and production was started but i believe it is cancelled)
SNOWWHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS II (i have read this a half year ago that preproduction was started, a few Disney fan's including spielberg started a NO campaign against this sequel. It is sad to see that they want to mess with walt's first masterpiece)
What do you think of this sequel mania and what sequel of a disney classic do you fear the most

, is it Pinocchio II (pinnochio's adventure) of something else. I am very curious of you're opinion

Mt fears lay with the future sequel to Sleeping Beauty, They have never manged to reproduce the beauty of the original and all new merchendice with Aurora has her looking like Barbi! -YUCK!!!!!- Also were would they go with this... I know the original story continued after the wedding, but Walt himself, did not like the turn the story took, soo I don't know... Any way since this is really the only of my favorites, that I can think of, that does not yet have a sequel, this is the one I most fear...
I can already see a documentary now, in the future, as they talk about that small time period, where disney unloaded all their sequels onto the public...
Hopefully this faze will end quickley...Oh and don't thnik that sequels will be the only existing 2D animation left, because they are already planning to do all future sequels in CGI. Another scary thought for SB 2.

SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS II: Final Destination
In this, Snow White accidently breaks the Magic Mirror while dusting. But instead of getting seven years bad luck, she get seven dwarfs bad luck. Each of the Dwarfs dies in a hideously gory "final destination" type way - for instance "woman hater" Grumpy is garrotted by a woman's G-String. At the end, realising it's all her own fault that her friends have died, Snow White looses her sanity and is commited. The final shot is her lying in a foetal position on the dirty asylum floor, quietly talking to imaginary Dwarfs she as created to ease her guilt, trying to get them to wash their hands before dinner. The camera pulls back to reveal the Prince standing outside, hitting it off with a nurse.
Seriously, I don't care. Sure most of the Disney sequels have been average at best, but some have been good. And no story, no matter how good is above having a sequel (or prequel or midquel).
Without sequels we would never had the films Bride of Frankenstein, Godfather II, Scream II (which I think is better than the original, despite popular opinon), Evil Dead II, Gremlins II and many others. We would never of had television shows such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer, M*A*S*H etc, or spin-offs like Angel or Frasier. We would never have the computer games Streetfighter II or Silent Hill II etc.
Sequels are not evil. And I think Disney's animated sequels are (as a trend) improving with each release. You don't want a Snow White sequel (for example) don't watch it. I will defend Disney's right to make sequels to my dying day (or until Hunchback III if its as bad as II

).

You should try to get a job as screenwriter for Disney, this is good stuff

You know... I wouldn't put it past disney to bring her back, after all... we never did see her get shot...
May be the reason she could no longer be with bambi, is because it was time for dad to take over...maybe she had other children...
Oh and 2099net that was hilarious and well thought up!

Alice in Wonderland 2
It's one of my favorite movies, not one of my top ten best, but Alice was the first Disney movie I've ever seen...

Ever played Kingdom Hearts? Cinderella, Aurora, and Snow White look pretty good in 3-D, though I doubt Prince Phillip will believe me on the "Aurora looking good in 3-d" part...

Bambi 2: Bambi's mom comes back because some other deer, when it died, decided to donate it's organs so bambi's mom could live.

My thoughts exactly! I'm not thinking of DTV crap, real well made high budget theatrical sequels, rescuers is impossible because some many of the people that provided the original voices are dead. as far as I know "Basi"l and "Dawson" are still alive
Perhaps when disney has made sequels to all of there most apriciated gems they'll start making 101 dalmations part 3 etc, or start making sequels to the movies made in the 70's and 80's how about Robin Hood part 2?

Or what do you think of Oliver & Company II
I didn't played Kingdom hearts yet, but i heard great things about it. Would it make a good movie? They have plans to make the 50th classic an all star movie. For the Basil fan's, Mickey dissapears in this future classic. Al the disney characters from the previous 49 classics are helping to find Mickey under the lead of Basil!!

Rule #29
No matter how awful the sequel you MUST keep it seperate from the original
Stay strong...each is its own entity and should not tarnish (or improve) the other

The only sequel(s) i would be interested in is a continuation(s) to The Great Mouse Detective. It could become like a James Bond sort of series with multiple adventures, and they could start with the young lady mouse at the end of the original, and even continue a trend of that, by having the next client introduced at the end of each film, but only, I MEAN ONLY, if they treat it right and are accurate and realistic (or as realistic as you can be when telling a story about a mouse who lives under Sherlock Holmes and has the same lifestyle), and actually, this may be Disney's kind of sequel. I don't know how to explain it, it just seems like the easiest story to tell well, as long as they don't cheese it up. There is no other sequel that I'd like to be made.

OH, and instead of a Snow White sequel, I'd rather see (if we have to have a sequel) a midquel, "Snow White: Christmas at the Cottage". Now I know that Snow White was only with the dwarfs for 1-3 days, but since when does Disney care about chronology and consistency (think Beauty and the Beast: Enchanted x'mas, and Human Again)?????

Amen brother!
I also feel this sequel bashing for the sake of sequel bashing is needless.
While there are some sequels I have no interest in, (Cinderella 2 for example) I have enjoyed a bunch of sequels.
At the very least, the sequel/home video/DVD market is a HUGE earner for Disney, and will keep up in theatrical releases for years to come.
Sequels don't "scare" me, because as I've said time and time again, if the original is truly a classic, it has nothing to fear by the release of (albeit sometimes crappy and inferior) sequels. What is the worst that could happen? You think the sequel is shite and appreciate the original even more. Oh no!
And 2099 - it took me several minutes to stop laughing over Grumpy being garrotted by a woman's G-String.
