Wow. First "new" thread in the new forum :)

Today I recieved my Country Bears, Melody Time and So Dear To My Heart UK DVDs.

And for once, it looks like the US gets a better cover, the UK Country Bears cover is appaling:

Still, it's in < < Widescreen > > and includes all the extras from the US release (apart from the annoying Sneek Peeks).

So Dear To My Heart includes the Walt Disney Introduction, 'Lost and Found' rare footage, scrapbook and film facts. All of these features are reported to be duplicated on the held back US release.

Melody Time features the three bonus shorts which are present on the US disc - Casy Bats Again, Lambert the Sheepish Lion and Donald Applecore.

I also have the new Universal UK 2 disc Citizen Kane set, with a different restoration and supplements to the Warners US set (including the War of the Worlds Radio broadcast) and the 3 disc Family Guy Season 3 set.

I'll report back here once I've had time to browse the discs' contents. But as you can see, I've a lot to go through!

Ps. Disney UK continues to not only support Widescreen releases, but all three discs include inserts! :)

Just checked over at play.com and my Melody Time and The Adventures Of Ichabod and Mr Toad DVD's haven't even been sent yet  , but I will post reviews for both as soon as I get them. I sure hope Melody Time is uncut but I'm not getting my hopes up.

At play.com it now says "Out now. Waiting for delivery of stock." for both So Dear to My Heart and The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr Toad.

I hope they'll have their stock delivered soon.
I'm desperately waiting for So Dear to My Heart!

(I already have Ichabod and Toad on R1.)

Fortunately it was just a false alarm at play.com and everything is alright now:
It now says, "In stock" and "packing"!
I'm so glad.

Well, I'm disappointed with The Country Bears. It seems to have a weaker soundtrack than the R1 release. I don't think it's due to PAL speedup (something I have never noticed before) - it just sounds weaker on my system. Quite a major issue for a musical.
