There's a subwoofer beside the TV, and two surround speakers on the opposite wall. I only recently upgraded from a 13 inch TV (which I've had since 1999) to a 30 inch widescreen TV, which is a Philips. I had to return the widescreen TV 3 times before I got one that didn't have a problem with the picture, but the one I have now looks great.

Nice theater jack.
I just have one question: the speakers are not too near?
Here i put the speaker almost in the top of my room, is because that you can only see its wires, the speaker itself don't appers.
Another thing to make your sound better is you inclinate a litte your spearkers to it sound concentrate in one point of your room, perceive for example that the speaker of my tv is a little inclinated, it make the sound very better.

Actually, the way I have them is the recommended placement. Having them high up doesn't really produce the sound properly corresponding to whats happening on screen, unless you angle them downward directed at the viewer.
Of course, its all subjective. Some people like them high up, others don't. I just prefer mine the way they are.

Oh, sorry, you did say that. Don't know how I missed it.
Mine aren't angled because they are pretty much pointing in my direction anyway. The TV is at the same height as as my chair, so having the speakers just above the TV is pretty much perfect placement.

I'll clean my room up before taking pics. It looks like a bomb has hit it.

Sorry, I still don't know what I've done wrong

It's a bit blurry, and you can't see the over-head speakers or projector, but I couldn't fit them all in the photo

Dethi wants to move in with Melly! She has a cool screen!

(dethi would move the sofa closer to the screen tho

)
Melly, I've gone and linked your humongous jpeg that might cause people without Panavision sized computer displays some problems till you can fix it.
Altho the image in it is just 557 pixels tall and 872 pixels wide, it is inside a huge empty white background, and the jpeg itself is 1712 pixels tall and 2288 pixels wide. That's about 35mm Anamorphic Cinemascope/Panavision quality size! heh home theater indeed
You need to crop it and re upload it.
You also talk about missing things not in view on the piccie and it being blurry (what I see is some weird interpolating jaggies) so i don't know if those are on the original image or they happened when you pasted/uploaded the pic onto your image editor (or onto the hosting web site?) and the image got repositioned/resized inside that huge white frame. Also the jpeg, since its big, it's heavily compressed (144 times to 1) so that might account for the image looking soft (but not for the jaggies)
If you need more help you can always use the mouse-signal and message the dethi

Thanks Dethi

I don't have much time right now, I'm at work. I'll take a new pic tonight, this one was taken just after we bought so we didn't even have the curtains up on the windows

I'll see how I go cropping the new pic and try and include more of the room, thanks for your help
Oh and you wouldn't want your lounge (sofa) much closer to the screen, it's perfect where it is, besides the rear speakers are just behind (and above) where it is now so the sound is pretty good
Edited to say: I think I've got it now. If it's still too big let me know and I'll make it smaller.

Sweet home theater Melly. That's like your own personal movie theater. Only without the overpriced tickets and sticky floors.
