Story Line: Young Hawaiian girl Lilo (Chase) lives happily with her “alien experiment” friend Stitch (Sanders), an older sister (Carrere), two extraterrestrials, a gender-confused cyclops and Jumba (Stiers), a super-smart scientist. When Jumba is abducted by his former partner, a bunny supervillain, it’s up to our heroine and her hamster-like accomplice to arrange a trade: Jumba’s other experiments (all of which are variants of Stitch) in exchange for Jumba himself.

Bottom Line: This small-screen follow-up to the hit theatrical feature Lilo & Stitch is a goofy sci-fi comedy populated by strange-looking but lovable characters. Kids will enjoy the nonstop flow of cuddly-animal gags, and their parents will recognize the post-Python style of comedy (the bunny supervillain possesses a John Cleese-style French accent, while the scientist is an old-fashioned Cold War Russian). The colorful, quite-adept animation is of the old-school fluid Disney variety. A message about the importance of family ties is imparted at various points, but younger viewers will probably be captivated by the scenes in which Lilo and Stitch fly a rocketship to outer space and hot-wire a super-cool car owned by the Man in Black character, “Cobra Bubbles,” whose no-nonsense voice is supplied by Rhames.

Sometimes I wonder if the VPA reviewers actually watch the DVDs they review. They're so general that they could just be rephrasing the back of the cover and they rarely comment on the quality of the DVD or thoroughly cover extra features.

64 minutes?
Man is Loomis gonna be disappointed.

He'll just be finished making his vegemite sammiches and the movie will be 3/4 done...hmmm...I wonder if any Aussies actually do eat vegemite sammiches

Stuff smells horrible I tell you -- HORRIBLE

That really caught my attention too. The only valid excuse Disney could have for doing that is saying that the movie's absolutely perfect at it's current length and they would be lessening the quality by making it longer.

Unfortunately I don't think Disney cares that much about the quality and thought they could make it as cheap and short as they wanted and people would buy it. Sadly it's true, people will buy it, "people" possibly including me.

I really like the original Lilo and Stitch, and I'm really glad the voices are the same. If the original voices agreed to return, then it can't be that bad. And the animation from the trailer seems passable, so...it'll be on my shelf soon.

Nice to know that I'm being talked about in my absence.

I think it could go either way, but I'll save my disappointment to when it is actually released. It IS a little short though...Still, new Stitch is good in my book. Hope it comes out here at the same time...(cheaper).

As for the Vegemite, you haven't been EATING it have you? You know it is a sexual lubricant, right?

Seriously, I'm more of a peanut butter man...Vegemite is nice enough stuff, but I've noticed most Americans (and I don't want to generalise) tend to spread it in large amounts, which is not a good idea with Veggie.

Besides, the chances of any food lasting me more than the first four minutes of a show is unlikely...

Hrm... does the movie reek that badly? I was semi-looking forward to the film, but now i'm shying away... Length isn't really the big matter, but the reviews it's been getting is pushing it away...

Video Premier's "Review" is not bad. And I wouldn't take anything Aint-It-Cool-News posts that seriously - it tends to be opinionated one way or another.

Not that this has swayed my opinion one way or the other, but man that guy must have really hated this movie. FWIW, I think my daughetr actually does fit into that category with the 40-odd Disney DVDs we currently own.

I really don't like Ain't It Cool News. Sure, it gives out lots of great Disney animation, but I'd rather get my info from this site, and spare myself all the bad language.

Just preordered my copy tonite. The original gets played quite a bit in my household.

I find AICN highly entertaining - I visit it almost every day. I think I find more in common with the overly cynical, uber-sarcastic Talkbackers than I do here, or any of the other "it's all good" tolerant forums I frequent.
