The new season of "Wonderful World of Disney" launched tonight with the airing of a second "Growing Pains" reunion TV movie. That film, about Maggie Malone's election race was pretty great, and this one somehow managed to raise the bar even more.

Who else watched it? It's okay to admit it. The Seavers ROCK!!!

Doh! I missed the first reunion (set it up to tape but it cut off after the first few moments for some reason or another), and I didn't even know about this one! Hopefully the TV show and both movies come to DVD! (Does BV own it?)

I think Disney owns airing rights, while Warner Bros. owns the show and some kind of financial interest in the movies. Still, I share the sentiment!

The first movie is run on ABC Family with some frequency. In fact, I believe they aired it leading up to the new one.

Looks like I need to start paying attention to ABC Family again! I will be soon, anyways, as the 13 Days of Halloween will be starting soon! Thanks, Luke.

Well, I'm watching it right now. Let me tell you I'm not impressed by the Growing Pains: reunion TV movie. I really think Disney can do a better job with Growing Pains. It also could be that I'm not a big Growing Pains fan. :D But it might give ABC a first #1 victory for the week along with Lost and Desperate Housewife rates.

I loved it, I thought it was better than the first, the only thing that bugged me is where did Carol's stepson disappear too :? :o

I loved all the inside jokes in the movie

Me too! And like the other Seavers, I liked Ben better as the slacker too! :D

I do wish they made a tiny bit of effort to make the house look like the one on the show.

I can't believe I didn't have any clue about this! :o I cought the first reunion movie and I thought it did a good job and capturing the spirit of the original series.

Of course, I also like such Kirk Cameron TV classics as "You Lucky Dog". ;)

Didn't they sell the house in the final episode?

I didn't get to watch it, I got vetoed lol.

I wonder why Leonardo DiCaprio doesn't appear for the movies ...

Me too. But I liked when Mike's daughter (who apparently was born during the show's run, seeing as how she's like a teenager now) turned down the classic Mike Seaver leather jacket saying, "It's not like Leonardo DiCaprio wore it!"

Oh, apparently, they did. I don't remember it, but some episode guide says they moved to Washington D.C. This was clearly supposed to be Long Island (from the plates), so they must have disregarded that just like Carol's stepson!

I really wish Leonardo would be true to his roots and come back for the reunion. That reference is awesome, though, Luke.

I missed peices of it but what I did see I loved. I'm looking forward to a 3 disc set, with one disc has the first movie, second disc has the second movie, and the third disc has the first five episodes of the show.

Yeah I guess they moved back to Long Island, and bought back their old house.

But if you guys remember at the beginning of the series Hangin' With Mr. Cooper(from 1991) he bought the Seaver House, and apparantly remodeled it, the outside looked about the same, but the inside was very different.

Plus I guess Jason has some of it remodeled too so...... :)

The Mr. Cooper house is the same house as the Growing Pains house??? Was that part of the storyline? They don't look anything alike.

Well first off I really enjoyed the movie last night and will have to try and catch a rerun of the last movie which I missed. But I thought they did a great job with the film. As for them selling the house I thought they had put it up for sale and sold it and then backed out of it after they rembered all the good times. But I really can't rember for sures what ever happened to it. They did reverence to selling the house back in 1992 though in the movie. But I guess we will have to wait and see what happened to the house in 1992 when the final season comes to DVD for the VERY first time!!! I do hope they get these all to DVD sometime soon!

Yeah I think it was the first episode of Hangin' with Mr. Cooper

from tvtome

NOTE: In this episode, the set that is occupied by Mark Cooper and his roommates is actually the set from Growing Pains. Alan Thicke, who appears as himself in the teaser, meets Mark Curry and wishes him well on his new show. Subsequently, the set was changed without explanation.
