Aspect Ratio Misprints

I just purchased the That Darn Cat dvd with Christina Ricci yesterday and was very happy to hear that the rumors were true and it WAS in it's widescreen aspect ratio (albeit not anamorphically enhanced for 16x9 televisions, but at least I got the WHOLE movie). this got me thinking. I also read that Jungle 2 Jungle is widescreen even though the box is fullscreen. Are there any other misprints out there to know about? Because I'd be buying a lot more dvds if i knew they were actually widescreen.

Can't think of any other DISNEY movies with significant misprints. From their other branches, though, Indian Summer is widescreen (despite the labeling), and Krippendorf's Tribe is not widescreen.
Then, there's all of BV's new "Enhanced for 16 x 9 Televisions" back covers which are actually still non-anamorphic transfers.

If I'm not mistaken The Black Cauldron is 2.35:1 letterboxed widescreen despite featuring the usual "This film has been formated..." disclaimer. Don't have that one on DVD yet though (still have the old VHS from 1998) so I can't confirm this 100%. But I'm sure there are a few people on this board who could. Anyone?

Yes I can confirm that. That disclaimer also erroneously appears on some of the films that were created in 1.33:1.

It's weird. In the yellow box telling the technical specifications of The Black Cauldron it says "Aspect Ratio: 2.35:1", but under the running time in small white print it says "This film has been modified from its original version. It has been formatted to fit your TV." The latter is untrue.

The canadian (R1) two pack 101-102 Dalmations is in fact widescreen for both movies. The US version is fullscreen for the 2nd movie.

I was not aware of that. That's great news for people interested in buying the original.

I think perhaps Disney fixed this. I bought the Black Cauldron dvd today and it says in the yellow box 2:35:1 and also under running time it says that it's "presented in it's original theatrical aspect ratio, approximately 2:35:1."
