Most of these covers are the same, but I do have to say that I prefer this Home on the Range cover. Isn't that Bambi the same as the VHS release, cause I know that Aladdin 2 is the same.
What do the numbers correspond to? I guess it's the relese order of the films, even though it seems odd that the sequels are included in that count.

That Mary Poppins cover is so much nicer than the U.S. one!

The numbers correspond to the the order of the Disney films, animated, seqels and most live actions...
Snow White is #1 etc.
For the Bamabi cover, yes it's the same as the VHS's but I don't think tihs one will be definite. On this kind of catalogue, Disney often diplay the DVDs with their no definite covers, and as Bambi will be released in March, so there's still time to change.
However, I think the Mary Poppins's, Alice's and Lilo & Stitch's are definite mainly because they go out in December.
Yes, the Marry Poppins artwork look nice but, now the policy at BVHE France is to present the Collector's Edition in regular blue DVD cases with no slipcover or digipacks.... That in exchange of a lower price on the CE : €19,98 the 2-Disc Set.

That "Mulan 2" cover is just awful! Not that the movie deserves any more than that, hehe, but I don't know how Disney expects to sell any copy with a cover like that.
Hmm, and what hapenned to the very nice coverart for the Aladdin sequels? Pity they are only reusing the old ones from the VHS (or not, the final covers may be the ones we saw some time ago).
Pity they didn't include the coverart for "Pocahontas: SE". It is the one I'm the most curious to see.

I just want to point out that probably only a few of these packshots are the real ones. To have something presentable BVHE France sometimes puts material they got from the movie together to have a better sight at the dvd for people. I think the Mulan 2, Return of Jafar, King of Thieves, Mary Poppins, Bambi and Home on the Range are not the final cover art (I'm actually pretty sure).

You're right Jens, as I was saying, sometimes this cover are'nt the final ones but I think Mary Poppins and Home On the Range will be final.
As for the other you're quoting Jens ( Mulan 2, Return of Jafar, King of Thieves), we're sure it's those ones, it's been shown elsewhere that on this Disney commercial booklet.
As for the beauty of the covers, Joe Carioca, do you really thing that the Aladdin Platinum Edition has a beautiful coverart ?
I mean I think it's too much (character, colors, childish).
In France, we used to have great artworks on the Collector's Edition (with the 1-disc release as the same as the R1's 2-Disc set), but not anymore... now US / France all the same...

Yep some are not the final ones ( Aladdin sequels, Bambi and Mulan2)
but Home on the Range is the final one.
Buena Vista France, seeing the more than awful american cover refuse to take it and battle to keep the theatrical poster for the DVD, and they got it!
For Mary Poppins, im' not sure but it is very cool!

Was that officially announced by BVHE France, that they "won the battle" to have the theatrical poster on the DVD? Takes a lot of guts! Wish we had such a Buena Vista

I was pretty sure the Aladdin sequels were the final coverarts...
As for Buena Visa, jens, in France we may be have the original threatical psoter on the DVD, but if you know what America's got than we don't have...

I don't really understand... What does America have what you don't have? As you (or some other person) said before, BVHE France will probably have the same covers as the US from now on (due to price lowering?). Where did you get the idea that they are fighting for the cover to be like the theatrical poster? Don't get me wrong, I would love it if France gets a different cover. I just think it's a little weird.
About the Return of Jafar and King of Thieves. Those are just the old VHS and old DVD covers. I saw the other french DVD covers, and they looked a LOT better, don't you think?

I now remeber that you're right about the Aladdin sequels's covers.
When I said that US were havin more thing than France I was not especially talking about the coverarts, but missing contents on the DVDs, the Gift Sets, the 2-Disc Sets, etc.
And personnaly, even sometimes if I don't loooove the US coveart, I like the slipcovers very much, thing we don't have here in France... So now, we don't have digipacks anymaore (one of the consequence of the price lowering) and no slipcovers etiher.

Actually, I don't hate it, but I don't love it either. But I also miss the beautiful packagings and coverart that Frace used to get - although I don't have the money to afford them. At least I have the 2-discer "Peter Pan", and that makes me very happy already.
