Animated Movies reveals that Piglet's big DVD will debut on July 15, but I think I'll skip it. Those of you who I talk to frequently on AIM know how I feel about this movie, but there you go.

We haven't even got the movie out at the cinemas here yet, let alone a DVD release date!
IT might even go direct to DVD here. Although Jungle Book 2 is playing in cinemas now in Sydney...have avoided it though...
I loveanything Pooh-related, so I probably won't be too disappointed in this film, but it will be interesting to see what sort of treatment this DVD gets...

Yes, you will. I love everything Pooh - and Piglet, perticularly - and I was very, very disappointed in the movie. It was never really engrossing, and to top things off it has a glaringly huge plot hole at the end and a very, very disturbing flashback that tarnishes good memories of Rabbit. To say more would spoil it, but the movie is so flimsy there's not much to spoil because it doesn't have much worth it in the first place.

I have to agree with Jake. This isn't one of Disney's finest. We saw this with my little boy & even he was bored. If anyone out there hasn't seen it in the theaters, I suggest waiting & renting it on DVD

Hey!

I took my kids to see it and I thought it was cute. Perhaps not adult animation fare, but my kids seemed to enjoy it.

Quit dissing Piglet!

I still say I'll probably get a kick out it.
Will order it as soon as my budget will allow it.
Can't let a Pooh related DVD pass me buy (although I'm yet to pick up Very Pooh New Yeah or whatever it is called).
I can't help myself - I'm an addict!

Here's the disk art from Davis DVD! Yay.

Edit:
Opps, looks like Luke already posted the disc art before Davis DVD did. Cool. :D Thanks Luke.

Yeah, Luke posts Disney disc and cover art before anyone else. Always.

Speaking of Pooh, does the Very Merry Pooh Year have "Winnie the Pooh and Christmas Too" on the disc?

Don't actually own the DVD, but apparently it is. At least the synopsis seems the same: Pooh forgetting to add his own wishes to the Santa list, everybody going off to get it and add some things for Pooh but adding more stuff for them instead, it winding up back at Pooh's place and Pooh trying to fulfil all their wishes.

So I'd say yeah, it's on there.
Actually, I really should get that. Off ot the shops today (thanks to the Queen's Birthday, I have the day off!). Will eithe rbuy that or the newly released (here) Pete's Dragon on DVD.

No. Loomis for the love of God DON'T BUY PETE'S DRAGON! (Although the Donald Duck short is entertaining!)

You'll be pleased to know I resisted the temptation...
I went into an animation specialty store that sells import DVDs, and almost dropped all my money, but again resisted the temptation.
Wound up getting the new Radiohead record 'Hail to the Thief' - highly recommended.

Still felt as though a Disney DVD purchase should have been made. Perhaps I'll buy a sequel I don't own next week :D

I was going to do that but it cost me $40 US for postage for that and one other item. Unbelievable.

I could have bought 2 more DVDs elsewhere for that....

This one should have gone straight-to-video, same for Jungle Book 2.

How come Jungle Book 2 gets an anamorphic WS transfer and A Goofy Movie doesn't? Or how about the 2 Muppet movies? Jungle Book 2 has adult appeal and Muppets don't? Give me a break, Disney!

Why, is it a bad movie?

Pete's Dragon is one of my childhood favorites! A great musical IMO.
