I REALLY hope that the February thing doesn't mean that we will get less than the United States (like a lot of DVD's that are being released now). I hope it's just a mistake...

Well, I've done some research, and their claim that Make Mine Music is "out now" is somewhat baffling. According to many sites, even the last VHS release is now "deleted".

In Holland (and Belgium?) it will be released late February (according to disneyinfo.nl). Maby it's just a week before the R1 release?

Since the US are getting Bambi Tuesday March 1st. Region 2 get DVD's mondays so if its the same as us getting Aladdin Monday Oct 4th instead of 5th, then we will probably get Bambi Monday Feb 28th.

Do you think the Tarzan May 2005 is a re-release of the Collector's Edition? I hope so.

I'm really wondering why they are doing this... First The Three Musketeers, then Mulan 2 (but that's probably because of Chinese New Year) and now Bambi? What are they doing? I don't understand...

I guess, like lots of UK Studios, BVHE UK have cottoned onto the fact that many users import their discs so by releasing them early they are giving the user an incentive to buy locally.

Look at Fox and their run of 2 disc sets for the UK and Australia, while the US only gets single disc editions ("Garfield", "I, Robot", "The Day After Tomorrow" and "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen").

The glaring omission from the list is 101 dalmations - presumably that's Oct 2007...? They're leaving it so late you wonder if 101 dalmations will get a dvd release at all (apart from the deleted no frills version a while back).

101 has always been weird. Like as in elusive. I remember it took forever to come out on LD. In fact it came out like almost inmediatly after a theatrical re release i saw (btw at 1.85 ) (and it looked composed for it then no weird croppings above and below i was already aware about the negative being shot in an Academy camera at the time and/or the laserdiscs aspect ratio :P) so fast i didnt have the craving to buy it in LD and then it was gone so guess what happened: It's one of the movies i don't have. Yet.

Always were people asking: When is 101 gonna come out? Why is it being left for last? like for decades :P
The Limited dvd edition was a surprise to me and i thought: and here i was being paranoid. well, only the paranoid survive: Again it is an "elusive" release. The way it works, it'll be on Platinum like for two weeks and 10 years from now dusthie mouse will be saying I remember when it came on DVD and people were asking what about 101, why is it last? to people asking why is the Blue-101 schedule for 2014 if ever? :P

and people will also say, but wasn't this in Academy?

;)

AFTER MIDNITE deathie addition:

Aladdin - Oct 2004
Mulan - Nov 2004
Bambi - Feb 2005
Alice in Wonderland - Apr 2005
Mary Poppins - Apr 2005
Pocahontas - Apr 2005
Tarzan - May 2005
Cinderella - Oct 2005
Lady and the Tramp - Mar 2006
Little Mermaid - Oct 2006
Jungle Book - Mar 2007
101 for oct 2007 ?
??? on march 2008 ?
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs - Oct 2008

mmm if Snow White is october '08

that leaves the slot empty for pinocchio/fantasia/peter pan/ sleeping beauty in march 2008...

haven't all of those gotten a Special Edition of some kind on at least one region? i'm trying to see if one would have more of a reason than the others to come out first. Peter Pan? cus our little wooden Data err i mean boy that wants to be human i think should come after Snow White for some obscure dethi chrono reason :P Coming before SW it feels wëird. Actually I think on the Laserdiscs it was Fantasia Blue box Pinocchio Red box and Snow White White box in that order but i'm not sure. So mm it could BE Popeye errr I mean Pineeye

mmm could it be

Sleeping Beauty PE dvd and BE dvd mar '8
Snow White PE dvd and BE dvd oct '8
Pinocchio PE dvd and BE dvd mar '9
Fantasia PE dvd and BE dvd oct '9
Peter Pan PE dvd and BE dvd mar '10

orrrrrrr

Peter Pan PE dvd mar '8
Snow White PE dvd and BE dvd oct '8
Pinocchio PE dvd and BE dvd mar '9
Fantasia PE dvd and BE dvd oct '9
Sleeping Beauty PE dvd and BE dvd mar '10

only Bambi and Cinderella stand in their way, i mean go inside that order (after Fantasia, before Peter Pan and Sleeping Beauty) and they woulda had (relatively) recent PE releaes to be put back into correct chrono order...

aahhh but if we move forward Snow White one date to mar '8 to fill the empty slot look what happens to the alignment of the stars:

Snow White PE dvd and BE dvd mar '8
Pinocchio PE dvd and BE dvd oct '8
Fantasia PE dvd and BE dvd mar '9
Peter Pan PE dvd oct '9
Sleeping Beauty PE dvd and BE dvd mar '10

the Blue god and the god of Kronos are both equally satisfied!!!!!!!

o/~ I'm waiting for a Blue Christmas o/~
