Please note that the lack of commas in inappropriate places is intentional, so as not to confuse appositives or other comma usage with film listings. :) Even with the auditions, there are 108 remaining live-action films that survived the auditions. Therefore, we'll be dividing the game into three rounds, each of which will be further divided into sub-rounds. Round 1 will concern movies made prior to 1990 (I had to make the slight change from the site's grouping, which breaks at 1980, to even out the two groupings). Round 2 will concern movies made from 1990 to the present day. The winners of the first two rounds will go head-to-head in Round 3. Got it? Good. :)

Live-action films have already been defined for us by Luke's pages for them here on the site. Films made prior to 1980, all of which are covered in Round 1, can be found here (complete list). The complete list of films made between 1980 and 1990, also covered in Round 1, can be found at the bottom of this list.

It works just like the Survivor TV show. Basically, come on here once every 2 days and vote for the live-action Disney film that you want to vote off, i.e., the one that you like the least. Everyone is welcome!!

At the end of the round, I'll come on here and announce which films got voted off, and a new thread will start for the next round. This gets to be a lot of fun, especially when it gets down to the wire (as you hopefully know from the last two games).

You can talk about your reasons for your vote, but I ask that you put the full title of what you're voting for in bold letters so that it's easy for me to count them all in a hurry.

There are more titles in Round 1 of this game than there were in all of the Animated Classics Survivor. Therefore, for Round 1, we'll follow this plan: Four movies will be cast off in each of the first 5 sub-rounds (the four with the most votes to leave). After that, two films will leave in each sub-round, until we reach the top 10. In all, that should make for 52 sub-rounds in round 1. Make sense? The winner of Round 1 will square off against the winner of Round 2 for the ultimate winner, which will join the reigning champs, The Lion King and Toy Story 2.

So, Survivors ready??

The Final Sub-Round of Round 1

Vote for the movie that you want to win Round 1!! Remember that there are still 2 more rounds, so the victor of these two remaining films is only the victor of Round 1- NOT of Live-Action Survivor. It will go on to square off against the victor of Round 2. Kapeesh?

Pollyanna
Freaky Friday (1977)

Voting ends at midnight (EASTERN TIME) on Thursday, September 9th.

I vote for Pollyanna to win Round 1- a fantastic movie. It's certainly not the most deserving of those eligible, but it's probably in my top 5 (at least of the old ones).

Besides, I've never seen the original Freaky Friday.

Close, but Freaky Friday takes it. It may not be one of my top five choices from the original list, but at the very least, it's the best live action Disney film from the '70s that I've seen.

Pollyanna. I love Freaky Friday, but I like Pollyanna a bit more. I'm glad so many of my favorite live action films made it into the top 5, though I would've rather have seen Mary Poppins in the top 5 than Swiss Family Robinson.

And, the winner in Round 1 is...

Pollyanna!!

Pollyanna will square off against the winner of Round 2 to find the ultimate champion!

Round 2 will take just a little longer to get typed up and posted, so it will probably be up some time tomorrow. Stay tuned! :D

Too late the wrap up party has already started - I am having Barbeque Chips and Coke. LOL.

I PMd Aaron. Jumping the gun again.

Geeeeeez. I have a poor perception of time.

False alarm, everyone.

In my haste to get some sleep for this morning's far-away job interview, I got all confused. The good news is that I am now an official ambassador of Buena Vista Home Entertainment!

Why do I get the nasty feeling that some random people will come in and because the winner's been pre-announced, the results will change?

Well, Pollyanna isn't yet the winner, nor is Freaky Friday. I think people probably had an idea of the winner from scrolling, too.
