Codes that get used even when order doesn't go through

Now I'm going to have to call the DMC and talk to a live "cast member" and find out why(they are closed today for Labor Day holiday). This has happened before when the order didn't go through but, when I reordered, it indicated the code had been used already. Anyone else encounter this? (I know it will be resolved, it's just annoying. They will fix it and I'll get my VIP member pin and all will be right in the universe).
