Which sets would you like to be included in the Walt Disney Treasures Wave 5?

-Silly Simphonies Vol. 2
-Donald Duck Vol. 2
-Pluto Vol. 2
-Donald Duck Vol. 3  (it's impossible, i know  )

Well, at the very least, the True Life Adventures set should be among the December 2005 wave. I'm not sure if the Assorted Treasures set will make it to fruition as planned, but if so, that might be included as well.

Donald Vol. 2 seems like a given.

For the 4th, I'd like to see an "Early Disney Films" set with Song of the South and So Dear to My Heart since they don't appear to be coming any other way anytime soon, and it's a way to avoid whatever little controversy having "Song of the South" boldly on the shelves would supposedly bring.

Welcome to the forum, arturo!

1)Donald Duck 2
2)True Life Adventures 1
3)Other Assorted: Including the Ludwig Von Drake, Figaro, Chip and Dale cartoons; as well as Ben and Me and the Small One.
4)Silly Symphony 2

Hopefully, like Luke said, a Song of the South and So Dear to my Heart!

1-Donald Duck 2
2-Silly Symphonies 2
3- Assorted Shorts including Freewayphobia No. 1 and Goofy's Freeway Trouble (If they weren't gonna make a Chip & Dale Treasure later on, also The Lone Chipmunks, the 3-D version of Working For Peanuts, and Chip Ahoy in Cinemascope, since the rest are already out or will be included in upcoming Donald/Pluto Treasures)

I prefer 4 treasure waves (life is so short)
so in my planet there would be all 4 Treasure waves :D and Donald 2 would come this Christmas so that would make the 5th wave Donald 3 and some other new Treasure like True life Adventures, or Pluto v. 2 if they split it, or the Song of the South/So Dear to my Heart collection as 4th would be fine.

But i guess 3 treasures/wave will do...

I tend to agree that True Life Adventures and more Donald would be the logical inclusion for the next wave, I have a few I'd like to see:

- Educational Shorts: kind of like the miscellaneous shorts, but with more of a theme. Stuff like "Triangle of Health" and "Story of Menstruation" would pop up here. Fun in the 'Frontlines' kind of way.

- Assorted Shorts: seeming unikely, but there are heaps of "leftovers" that really deserve a DVD release.

- Silly Symphonies V2

While I really hope Song of the South/So Dear To MY Heart will get a release, I doubt this will be as part of the Treasure series. I have always wanted to see a "Controversial Disney" or "Disney Uncut" DVD that would not only include those films, but scenes from other shorts that were cut, and those shorts that are "too hot" to make the other tins (like some of the B&W Mickey ones).

Doubtless, when they SOTS is released, Disney will invent a new title for the series ("Special Collector's Masterpiece Gold Edition" or something).

I guess both Donald vol 2 and Silly Symphonies vol 2 would be obvious choices.

There should be no need for Goofy vol 2 or MM color vol 3.

I'd hope there'll be no need for Pluto vol 2 but we'll wait and see what we get ths year.

There CAN'T be another Goofy or Mickey in Color set, they are all complete now.

I would like to see any of the following:

Silly Symphonies vol 2 (the rest)
Donald Duck vol. 2 (and any further volumes)
True Life Adventures
Assorted Treasures
Zorro
More episodes of Disneyland or Walt Disney Presents

When you say fruition do you mean in wave 5 specificaly or that this set is unlikely to be released at all in any wave?

The item that looms largest on my wish list is Silly Symphonies 2. I want Hell's Bells and Cannibal Capers!!

I'd like to see see a After School Special Treasure (Though I know it probably won't ever happen). A tin packed with Chip 'n Dale's Rescue Rangers, Tale Spin, Darkwing Duck, and Ducktales. Perferably releasing them by season. Perhaps some Ludwig Von Drake, Figaro and Chip and Dale Cartoons (in addition to the Rescue Rangers). i.e.
After School Special Treasure Volume 1 (Season 1)
After School Special Treasure Volume 2 (Season 2) ect. Then as they run low on shows (depending on when they ended) they can pack it with extras, so the later volumes (i.e. volume 5 or six or whatever will have mostly extras to supplement the other volumes. Yes, I'm dreaming...anyway, here's the rest of what I'd like to see:

Silly Symphonies Volume 2
Donald Duck Volume 2 (and any additional volumes)
Pluto Volume 2 (if needed)
Educational Shorts (such as Triangle of Health perhaps double dipped with some of the educational films from Front Lines)
Early Disney (Song of the South/So Dear to my Heart)

There are lots and lots of material to choose from, but, besides the inevitable animated shorts tins (more Donald Duck, Pluto, Silly Symphonies), I would love to get more Disneyland shows on DVD. Someone here once sugested a Fantasyland tin, and I think it is a great idea. I would also love a Disneyland USA Vol. 2 and a Walt Disney World tin as well (though I don't think that is very likely, since I think the collection only concentrates on Walt-era films/programs).

As for the animated ones, I would be eager to get the long-rumoured Assorted Shorts Treasure. An Educational Films Treasure would be nice for completeness sake, but I confess I'm not THAT interested on those (the exception being the "I'm No Fool" shows).

Bring them on! :)

I would like to see the TV Making Of Specials for the Modern movies in a set, being as the majority don't show up on their appropriate DVDs. They show more than just how the films are made, they show how Disney were "selling" the films at the time, so are important historical documents. I don't see why only Walt Era "Treasures" should be included. Without such a release and with Disney's misguided policy on their archive "Making Ofs" most of these would never get a public release otherwise.

I guess each is between and hour and half and hour minus adverts, so about 45 mins or 20 mins. 4 should fit on a single disc, with room for bonus features.

Disc One
Making of 'The Little Mermaid', The (1989) (TV)
Making of 'Beauty and the Beast', The (1991) (TV)
Making of 'Aladdin': A Whole New World, The (1992) (TV)
Making of 'The Lion King', The (1994) (TV)
Bonus
Lion King: A Musical Journey with Elton John, The (1994) (TV)

Disc Two
Pocahontas: The Musical Tradition Continues (1995) (TV) (Double Dip, slap my wrist)
Making of 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame', The (1996) (TV) (Slap it again!)
[can't find a Hercules one, but I'm sure there is one!]
[can't find a Mulan one, but I'm sure there is one!]
Bonus
Best of Disney: 50 Years of Magic, The (1991) (TV)

Even if Hercules and Mulan don't have TV specials, different versions were made for different countries. For example I have the TV "Making of" for Treasure Planet from a magazine cover disc, and it appears to be UK specific (and it was shown on ITV over here) so I'm pretty sure something could be tracked down for these films. There's also room for another volume for post Mulan films.

  "The Making of The Lion King" was released on VHS and laserdisc, but not DVD?! It easily would have been better to include than any of the newly-made bonus features that did make the DVD.

The Mulan one was recently mentioned in another thread. The Fantasia CAV Laserdisc had a different "Making of" featurette than the Anthology, and 2099net is right when he speaks of different countries having some, so there might be lots of these and other materials. mmmm you could also make a Bonus Treasure with all the trailers and teasers and/or music videos for all the films mmm... maybe a special offer at the end for those who have all the Treasure sets?

Isnt there a Hercules making of on the dvd? I know it has a making of, but Im not sure if it is the one that aired on tv at the time of the movie's release.

There is one, but it's a little short. I suspect it has been edited substantially.

Yeah, the Hercules one is just 9 minutes or so. More like an EPK than a half-hour featurette, even if the two aren't so far removed.

At least Hunchback's had that one in full. I really enjoyed it.

I also like deathie's idea!

I believe the Hercules making of was made for the Disney Channel. It had already been included on the original Brazilian VHS.

The Making of Treasure Planet has been aired on our Brazilian HBO. We also got The Making of Lilo & Stitch (which was called something like "Adventures in Paradise") on our free-to-air TV.
