Most ANNOYING Disney Character

Since the "hate" forums seem to do really good, I though I'd start one meself.

Most of the movies I dislike are because the characters are quite annoying to me: Timon & Pumba... maybe, but, really, it is (kid) Simba who is truly annoying. Not much of a hero, sez I.

Aladdin is a bit of a jerk, but they managed to include a scene where we're supposed to find him "endearing" because he shares his stolen bread with the other ragamuffins. But, take that scene out, and he is left a self centered ass.

How about:

- Rabbit, in Winnie the Pooh.

- Gorgi in Black Cauldron (I could do without the "cute" sound effects.)

- Both Hercules & his midget friend Phil.

- Mr. Toad

- If Roger Rabbit wasn't so good natured, he'd be annoying, for the record, I don't think he is.

Come to think of it, there aren't that many in the classic older films, but they sure do crop up in the newer ones.

Well, Rabbit can be a bit abrasive. I've just finished watching Springtime with Roo and the funny thing is that it's a Rabbit movie with Roo in the title, as if no would want to see a Rabbit movie.

I think Roger Rabbit threads a fine line between annoying and entertaining.

I don't, however, see annoying qualities in any of the Disney heroes, certainly not Simba or Aladdin or Hercules.

Winnie the pooh! He just annoys me with his calm and slow voice... I really can't stand watching a Winnie the pooh movie! Sorry for all the Pooh fans around here (sorry Loomis! :P)

I agree, Winnie the Pooh and Company bring new levels to the word naive. They're cute and all, but I can only watch Pooh sitting there going "Think think think" while the answer bites him on his rear, and yet, he still can't manage to wrap his brain around it.

I'm also not fond of Snow White, as I've said before, and the Emperor from The Emperor's New Groove, (his name escapes me at the moment).

Simba=Hamlet. Thus, he is an indecisive wimp. In Shakespeare, being an indecisive wimp leads to Tragedy for all, in Disney it leads to a Happy Ending.

Aladdin thinks he is the bomb, even though he admits he is a street rat. For comparison: in The Thief of Baghdad, Douglas Fairbanks' thief lives in the street, yet remains a king ("what he wants, he gets"). The fine clothes and the jewelry (being a "prince") is absolutely worthless to him.
BTW, the original Aladdin from The Arabian Nights was also a good-for-nothing jerk, not a hero, he came upon his fortune by mere chance.

Hercules of Greek Mythology had both brain and brawn. He is considered a Hero because of what he did and how he lived and died. Disney's Hercules has muscles but no brain. Being a hero to him is the ultimate goal, and he molds his life to achieve this purpose. He doesn't seek Immortality, he merely wants (Hollywood type) fame.

Off the top of my head, Pocahontas and her two side kicks, Grandmother Willow, Mulan, the villain in Mulan, and all the residents of the Hundred Acre Wood.

That's not to say that I dislike any of them, but they can be annoying at times.

Iago's voice (c/o Gilbert Godfrey) is nails on a chalkboard annoying, but the character himself, I think is funny. But Iago wouldn't be the same without GG's voice. Something about it is just appealing, yet appalling at the same time.
I think Iago and Zazu are characterized in the same 'meant to on purpose' category as Kuzko, I personally, like both Zazu and Iago, they're comic relief. However, I find the entire character of Kuzko to be a whining and spoiled brat.

For centuries people have found Robin Hood to be admirable for stealing and giving to those who are poor. Aladdin is simply 'Helping those who cannot help themselves'. While I don't find it endearing, it is a better lesson than what Abu wanted to do.

I agree with Herman, I find Hercules to be a shallow portrayal, same with Simba. As far as Aladdin goes, after all of the lies he tells in the first movie and Return of Jafar, you'd think Jasmine would have gotten a clue by then.

I never really understood what was so appealing about Winnie the Pooh. My sister says Pooh reeks of mental illness whenever I play any of the mini-games in Kingdom Hearts.
