Even with the auditions, there are 108 remaining live-action films that survived the auditions. Therefore, we'll be dividing the game into three rounds, each of which will be further divided into sub-rounds. Round 1 will concern movies made prior to 1990 (I had to make the slight change from the site's grouping, which breaks at 1980, to even out the two groupings). Round 2 will concern movies made from 1990 to the present day. The winners of the first two rounds will go head-to-head in Round 3. Got it? Good. :)

Live-action films have already been defined for us by Luke's pages for them here on the site. Films made prior to 1980, all of which are covered in Round 1, can be found here (complete list). The complete list of films made between 1980 and 1990, also covered in Round 1, can be found at the bottom of this list.

It works just like the Survivor TV show. Basically, come on here once every 2 days and vote for the live-action Disney film that you want to vote off, i.e., the one that you like the least. Everyone is welcome!!

At the end of the round, I'll come on here and announce which films got voted off, and a new thread will start for the next round. This gets to be a lot of fun, especially when it gets down to the wire (as you hopefully know from the last two games).

You can talk about your reasons for your vote, but I ask that you put the full title of what you're voting for in bold letters so that it's easy for me to count them all in a hurry.

There are more titles in Round 1 of this game than there were in all of the Animated Classics Survivor. Therefore, for Round 1, we'll follow this plan: Four movies will be cast off in each of the first 5 sub-rounds (the four with the most votes to leave). After that, two films will leave in each sub-round, until we reach the top 10. In all, that should make for 52 sub-rounds in round 1. Make sense? The winner of Round 1 will square off against the winner of Round 2 for the ultimate winner, which will join the reigning champs, The Lion King and Toy Story 2.

So, Survivors ready?? Come on in and vote off ONLY ONE of these 16 films:

Song of the South
20,000 Leagues Under the Sea
The Shaggy Dog
Darby O'Gill and the Little People
Pollyanna
Swiss Family Robinson
The Absent-Minded Professor
The Parent Trap (1961)
Bedknobs and Broomsticks
The Strongest Man in the World
Escape to Witch Mountain
The Apple Dumpling Gang
Freaky Friday
One Magic Christmas
Flight of the Navigator
Honey, I Shrunk the Kids

Voting ends at midnight (EASTERN TIME) on Monday, August 16th.

New Rule Proposal

Aaron, as we have obviously started our maneuvering I would suggest we implement a new rule to prevent manipulation and to be fair to everyone that has played the game this far. That only those who have played the game this far be allowed to vote. Otherwise, both of us will probably try to bring in anyone we can to the vote.(Dirty players that we are)

Well it's a good idea on the surface. I, personally, am not going to ask anyone I know to sign up for the UD forums just to vote on Survivor, that would just be too dirty.

However, I think that would be unfair to newcomers to UD. Or what about established members who so far haven't played the game? For instance, what if Loomis suddenly got the urge to play?

Now, I could say you have to have been registered at UD for x number of days (a week, maybe), or that you have to have x number of posts (not a high number). That wouldn't go into effect until the next sub-round, of course.

Okay a gentlemen's agreement to limit the lobbying to those who are already playing then. Because we were both(at least I assume you were the pro Poppins player bringing new votes into the game), someone certainly was doing it. And I know I was trying to get everyone I could in.

For the record I have never asked someone to sign up to play. My wife, as a fan of Disney and Survivor wanted to sign up when she saw me playing. I have asked members to make last minute votes however Im not the only one who has.

I have asked existing members to vote in the past, I know many people have, and that's totally fine. I can honestly say I've never recruited anyone to join the boards for the Survivor game, though. I have two friends who are UD members. Neither of them joined because of the Survivor game, though, and both are Disney fans who took it upon themselves to join (I didn't ask them to). Not having the most reliable internet access when not at college, they don't post all that often during the summer, but I keep them updated with the Survivor game when they ask. When I told them about the Poppins dilemma, they of course wanted to save Poppins, so they decided to connect to the net for that. I don't know if that's what you're referring to or not, but I wouldn't ask anyone to join just to gain leveredge in the Survivor game. :)

I was approached only after I expressed interest and voted. Just in case y'all thought I was asked to join for this sole purpose.

And I guess I'll go with The Apple Dumpling Gang

1) You were already voting so you would not have been covered by any new rule
2) Your voting pattern would indicate you are not a member of either alliance. (We are still taking applications)
